Product Description

Attractively housed in stainless steel with a sleek, contoured design, this slow cooker looks stylish on the counter or when taking it along to parties and family gatherings. Cook up roasts, poultry, soups, and stocks in the extra-large 7-quart ceramic crock--it can also be used for desserts and beverages. The unit delivers even heating thanks to the precisely placed heating element and internal temperature sensor, while its high-performance bronze nonstick surface ensures effortless release and quick clean-up. To use, turn the control knob to the desired heat setting. Select "high" for cooking to be complete within a few hours, "low" for cooking to take 8 to 10 hours--great for having dinner ready and waiting after a busy day at the office, or "warm" for keeping cooked foods at a perfect serving temperature. Or choose the "auto" setting, which takes the guesswork out of temperature selection--simply choose a cook time. On auto, the slow cooker runs on "high" for two hours to make sure foods reach a safe temperature, then it automatically switches to "low" for the remaining cook time. Once the cook time ends, the slow cooker switches to "keep warm" for up to four hours. The 10-hour illuminated count-down timer must be set for the unit to start cooking. After the designated cooking time and four-hour "keep warm" mode, the slow cooker automatically shuts off for safety. Other highlights include elevated controls with helpful indicator lights, convenient cord storage, and a form-fitting lid to keep in heat, moisture, and nutrients. The crock and lid clean up easily by hand or in the dishwasher, and an instruction booklet comes included. The 320-watt slow cooker measures 13-2/5 by 19-8/9 by 10-2/3 inches and carries a one-year limited warranty.

[ASIN:B001L2SSXW Calphalon 7-Qt. Slow Cooker]] I really wanted the Calphalon slow cooker to be "the one". Because of the automatic setting and the easy to reach controls it would have been perfect. But that was not to be the case. It cooks VERY hot even on the low setting. I tried two different recipes and both burned in less time than was recommended in the recipe. The company asked me to try another cooker (same model), which I did, with the exact same results. Spend the extra money and buy the All-Clad: two tries with two perfect results!

I purchased this over the weekend. When I first went to use it, the timer dial immediatly broke. I was surpised to see, that as far as the knob went, it was very cheaply made. If you pull the knob off, you can see why it would break so easily.Calphalon HE700SC Stainless-Steel Slow Cooker with 7-Quart Ceramic Crock

There is no way I could use this crock pot as a slow cooker, and leave it home while I work. It cooks a whole roast in less than 3 hours on low. I have burnt things in it often, and it irritates me that I bought the most expensive crock pot out on the market, and it's the worst!
