These rugged 8-inch kitchen shears cut everything from chickens to flowers to cardboard to twine. Their blades are forged of high-carbon stainless steel so they take and hold sharp edges and won't rust, stain, or discolor. Blades curve inward so the cutting action is smooth and exact, and one blade is serrated to prevent slippage. Teeth between the black, synthetic handles twist off bottle caps, and wedges (one blunt, one pointed) at the handles' end pry off can tops. The handles "eyes" are large enough to accommodate thick fingers. For resharpening, the shears can be taken apart. They carry a lifetime warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

These are a well made pair of cooking shears, I particularly like the ease with which they can be taken apart for cleaning, the only problem is that they are very uncomfortable, if it hadn't come in the Calphalon 15-piece set I bought, I wouldn't use them.

These are cute, but they are not well made, they are uncomfortable, and after several use/washings, the black paint chipped off, sometimes falling into my food while I used these. I threw them out.

I bought these as a replacement for the shears that came with my knife set. These are a significant improvement over the ones that came in the Wustoff block set. The knives are great, the shears were horrible.

They come apart easily for cleaning, but not unless you open them ALL the way up. They will not come apart in regular use. They are very versatile.

I have large hands, so if you have small hands or short fingers, these may not work as well for you. For me, they are great.
