Calphalon Katana 13-Slot Bamboo Knife Block

I purchased this knife block for two reasons - I have many large knives that do not fit in my normal knife block and I have several Calphalon Katana-series knives, for which this is made.

Pros:
- Made out of sturdy wood, it's good quality
- Attractive design
- Many spots for large knives (this was perfect for me, I love it!)
- My other knives almost all fit in this block perfectly, going flush against the lower level of the slot

Cons:
- Too expensive
- Even with this block, the Calphalon Katana-series knives still stick out a bit from the block
- Not much variation in slot size (this is good only for your large knives, only one small spot and no cleaver spots)

Recommendation: Buy this if you own Katana-series knives or just need a knife block for a lot of bigger knives, otherwise this isn't for you.

Block seems solid and most knives fit. The main problem of the block Calphalon Katana 13-Slot Bamboo Knife Blockis that the Calphalon knife sharpener is round and the hole for it in this block is square. It was poorly wrapped for shipping.
