A fair pan, but might be dangerous as it slides on cooktop, January 9, 2007
This review is from: Calphalon One Nonstick 11-Inch Square Griddle (Kitchen)
We've had this griddle for a couple of years now. The surface has turned somewhat dark and the non-stick surface is not quite non-stick any longer. Someone had told me that using canola spray oils (like Pam) can cause a sticky buildup on non-stick surfaces which are difficult to come off and then end up burning on and ruining a surface like the Calphalon. I really don't know if it's true or if the pan has just lost its non-stick properties over time. The ONLY non-stick cookware we've ever purchased which has not ever lost its non-stick surface after a few years are some high end ("expensive") stuff we bought at Costco from one of their traveling road shows. But I contacted Calphalon. They said they the cookware has a lifetime warranty and all we have to do is pay shipping to send in the pan and they will replace it free. What REALLY disturbs me about this pan is that it slides over the stove top grates. This may not be a problem on glass cooktops but on the standard ceramic type grates that came with our GE Profile gas oven/cooktop, this griddle is the ONLY one of our pans that slides around. I consider that potentially dangerous. I would spend the money to ship back and replace, but I certainly would not one new again.

The best for breakfast, July 2, 2006
This review is from: Calphalon One Nonstick 11-Inch Square Griddle (Kitchen)
This is a great griddle for breakfast time. I use it all the time to make bacon, pancakes and hash browns. Even without using butter, things slip right off the surface of this pan, and it cleans up quick and easy. I used to use it for eggs also (until I got an 8-inch omelet pan) and it did a wonderful job with those as well. The down side, for some folks I guess, would be the size. For me, cooking for 2 people max, it is perfect. I can get 2 good sized pancakes on it, 5 or 6 big strips of bacon, or a nice heap of potatoes on it (not all at the same time of course!). If you have more mouths to feed, you might want to get a double burner griddle. Overall, it's a wonderful thing to have around in the morning.

calph one griddle, August 21, 2006
This review is from: Calphalon One Nonstick 11-Inch Square Griddle (Kitchen)
First of all, all my cookware is calphalon, primarily non-stick. This is probably the best griddle I've used! My husband, who makes eggs & homefries for Sunday breakfast, loves using it too. Even heat, no sticking.
