bait and switch. The item pictured is NOT what you might get, October 29, 2004
This review is from: Calphalon Nonstick 9-Inch Stir-Fry Pan (Kitchen)
The 9 inch stir fry pan I received did NOT have the second loop handle as described and as in the photograph, it did NOT have any Calphalon stamp on the bottom nor did it have any indication of manufacturer or country of origin, it had a rolled lip instead of a straight lip, and it was fairly thin metal, not anything like the Calphalon "commercial" line.
My guess is that this is fake calpalon, maybe a bit like some of the lightweight "almost calphalon" items that get sold in Target stores, or maybe counterfeit stuff. Anyway, nothing on the pot or box that indicates it is from Calphalon or from China or Toledo. In addition the nonstick coating was scuffed up and not very smooth, with some bumps, and the box had been opened before and some evidence of minor abrasions. This might have been an okay pan for $7 or so but there is no reason to buy a stir fry pan that will be completely different from the picture or description, because you will certainly sent this one back immediately upon opening the box.

Added December 28 2004:
Since I wrote the original review and complained to Amazon that their description and photo did NOT match the product sent, they have changed the photo from a picture of a pan with a second loop handle to a photo of the actual item, and they changed the description to reflect this. However they are still calling it "heavy gauge", which would not make sense if you consider their commercial line to be heavy gauge. Maybe "medium" gauge would be more honest.

It may be stamped Calphalon and made in Ohio, but...., January 19, 2005
This review is from: Calphalon Nonstick 9-Inch Stir-Fry Pan (Kitchen)
I own numerous pieces of this wonderful cookware in varying levels of quality from the simply calphalon to the commerical and professional....this piece does not compare. DO NOT BUY. I was going to send it back until I read the return policy's fees, so I'm keeping it since it would cost me about the same.

Not happy at all with this one, March 25, 2005
This review is from: Calphalon Nonstick 9-Inch Stir-Fry Pan (Kitchen)
I wish I had taken the advice of the first review and not purchased this pan. There is no stamp on the bottom of mine so I'm not even sure if it's really made by Calphalon. The surface is extremely grainy in texture compared to my other Calphalon nonstick pots and pans. I wasn't thrilled at all with this pan, and hardly ever use it.
