great cookware, August 23, 2004
This review is from: Calphalon One Nonstick 10-Piece Cookware Set (Kitchen)
has only been 1 month since the purchase, but I love it. Also own a couple of All Clad fry pans, which I hate to use because everything sticks to them. With Calphalon, there are no stains on the bottom from gas flame, and although they are not DW safe, they are so-oo-oo easy to wash! The cookware is a little heavy, but I'm used to carrying my kid around, so that was not a problem for me. As for the price - I think it's OK, considering it comes with a lifetime warranty.

Adonized vs. Nonstick or All Clad vs. Calphalon???, November 21, 2005
This review is from: Calphalon One Nonstick 10-Piece Cookware Set (Kitchen)
I highly recommend this set over the Adonized for those who need the security of non-stick you can't go wrong with this set. What I have to caution buyers is that the packaging that this item comes in is not durable and unlike {{All Clad}} it does not come individually boxed, so in shipping the likelihood that your items have been moved around (scratched) is HIGHLY probable since they don't even come in padded tissue paper.
For cooking purposes I love this set it is well worth the money but if you purchase this as a gift be forewarned take the time to open the box inspect it... then add your own bubble wrap if you are sending this long distance as a gift... TRUST me I have had the misfortune of having at least 3 sets of these that I sold personally on a site that the buyers complained the items were scratched. If purchasing from a dept. store inspect the box before your purchase if you are buying here off of Amazon (which these prices BEAT Department stores) just make sure that you check the items as soon as you receive.

Overblown and Overrated, Save Your Money., July 28, 2007
This review is from: Calphalon One Nonstick 10-Piece Cookware Set (Kitchen)
The folks at Bed Bath and Beyond sold us on this flagship set from Calphalon, essentially telling us that these were the best and only set of pots and pans that we'd ever need. Like fools, we bought their line and the set. Here's the bottom line: We used them according to the manufacturer's instructions and 14 months later, they are falling apart. The Anodized Non-stick surface is flaking off and food sticks to what's left almost every time. You might be thinking that we probably used a brillo pad on them, let them soak overnight or put them in the dishwasher (all of these are no-nos), but we didn't. And honestly, the non-stick surface was a mediocre performer from day one. And who wants a set that you can't load up in the dishwasher anyway? And no soaking? Are you serious? Afraid so. We should have read all the fine print first (as usual).
Essentially you have to clean them as soon as you use them and when the no-stick surface turns out not to be, you have to use a dish cloth to "scrub" them out. Good luck with that. This is NOT a lifetime set. Maybe, MAYBE, it would be worth the price tag if it lasted 10 years, but it won't. The regular ol' teflon stuff is just as durable as the Calphalon Anodized One set, does better in the no-stick category, is workable in the dishwasher and oh yeah, it isn't $500+. If you are determined to go with Calphalon, I would get the regular steel/ chrome set. This less expensive set is far more durable, less finicky, less annoying and a better value all the way around. If you get these as a wedding gift, then be glad and take 'em back for the cash.
