Calphalon One Nonstick 12-Inch Fry Pan

I had a whole set of Calphalon Commercial Nonstick cookware. After 10 years, the finish starting peeling off the 12-inch frying pan. I sent the pan back to Calphalon stating that I never used metal in my pans but the finish was peeling anyway. They sent me a brand new Calphalon One pan as a replacement. I so appreciate a company that stands behind their promises and doesn't accuse the consumer for abusing the product and voiding any warranties.

DO NOT BUY the Calphalon One Non Stick Pan

I am a good cook, and I know pots and pans. The Customer service I received from Calphalon was superb. Within six years, I returned FOUR Calphalon One Non Stick Pans to Calphalon for replacement, and each time, I received back a brand new pan which was sent by the company within only 3 to 10 days, after they received my pan. Superb customer service, and this company really does stand behind their (INFERIOR) product. Maybe I will try to sell online, the new pan I just received from Calphalon, to end my culinary nightmare.

The pans work very well for approximately 50 to 100 uses. Then the surface of the pan becomes dull, food sticks, and the pan becomes worthless. I have treated the pans very carefully, using good quality nylon spatulas, cooking below maximum allowable temperatures, and always waiting for the pan to cool off for at least 20 minutes before washing with mild soap, and a soft sponge. However, I have found the inexpensive non stick pans I purchased at my local retailers to last as long, or longer than Calphalon non stick pans.

I have had better luck with my Calphalon infused Anodized pan. I have only returned one to the company in six years. The Calphalon infused anodized pan sears very well, although it is sometimes moderately difficult to clean, when adding sauces to meats.

Although Calphalon provides outstanding customer service, please do not purchase the Calphalon One Non Stick pan, unless you are prepared to return it to the manufacturer after using it for a fairly short period of time.

When our [...] Kirkland brand 12" fry pan's non-stick surface started to peel a few years ago, I was hesitant to spend over $100 on this fry pan (almost as much for one pan as the the entire Kirkland set of pots and pans). However, it was clear from the first use that this pan was well constructed. It quickly became our kitchen workhorse. As with all non-stick surfaces (and despite only using calphalon nylon utensils and hand-washing) the non-stick surface began to wear after a few years. As this pan had a lifetime guarantee, my wife and I thought we would see if Calphalon's warrenty was real or if it had so many disclaimers to be useless.

Well, we packed up the pan, enclosed a letter (as described on Calphalon's website), and sent it in. Within a couple of weeks a brand new Calphalon 12" non-stick fry pan was delivered to our home.

Kudos to Calphalon for standing behind their warranty and replacing the pan, no questions asked.

I highly recommend this pan. It is well-worth the price they are asking.

I use this pan for so much of my cooking but mainly
for frittas. They come out perfect.
The pan with the glass lid are so easy to hand wash.

I have used this pan for several years and try as I may I just cannot wear it out. I do cook everything you can imagine and it just keeps on bubbling out the goodies. Those goodies are in part my throwing the stuff in and having the Calphalon return the stuff in much better shape than the original. It is the perfect size and it is not too heavy. When the contents become a bit overbearing the handy helper handle on the front assists well. It is called helper for a good reason. I wish I had more kitchen helpers. Another story and left untold....

Bottom line: You can tell it is a great piece and it works well. In 5 to 10 years I'll let you know if it were worth the price. So far it is well worth the price. I will go out on a limb and say it will amortize well into the next decade.

This 12 inch pan is easy to use, especially with the helper handle. Clean up is easy. Be sure to pick up the glass lid, too.

Calphalon from Amazon is great. This is a very nice piece to add to my growing kitchen.

I'm very pleased with the quality of this fry pan. Someone who likes to cook with top of the line cookware would appreciate the value of such an essential piece in their kitchen.

Love that double handle. Have an older 12 inch Calphalon, but it doesn't have 2nd handle. The old one is often too heavily unbalanced to use. In fact, haven't used it since we got the new one.

I have only used my pan for frying bacon thus far. I have found that because the pan has a shiny surface, you cannot tell with the naked eye if cleaning it is a snap. I always go over the surface at least three times, then do the finger squeaky test to be sure there is no oily residue. Maybe after just once wiping it may do the trick. In any event, this 12 inch pan is hefty. It is probably really not going to get the kind of rough use that it was commercially designed from me. I wanted a non-stick skillet as part of my cookware for fast meals. Reading care instructions makes it clear there are many things not to do with this pan, use any metal or sharp objects on its surface, never use brillo pads to clean it and clean only in hot soapy water. Cold water will cause its aluminum interior to warp. Would I recommend this pan. Yes, but the caveat is that care will be needed to insure a long life of the product.
