While the Calphalon lids are rugged, they can be broken. This lid was purchased to replace one which shattered from thermal shock. Amazon offered the best price and the lid was delivered in 2 days. I couldn't ask for better service.

This was just what I needed and it works great and the way it is constructed keeps the handle cooler than my regular lids. Always a great product.

Too bad the original pan did not come with a lid, but this is the PERFECT lid. And, you can even see what you are cooking. Bought both a 10" and a 12" lid.

This lid feels very solid. You can see your food when the lid is used. Only negative is that it's heavy. Besides that I'm satisfied with it.
