Yes, this is a great buy and I love caphalon despite the work required to keep it looking great. However, no where in the description did I see anything that said what I was going to receive was seconds. There were heavy dings on almost all the pots, mis-stamps on all the rivets holding on the handles and one of the lids came discolored making it look like it had been sent through the dishwasher at the factory. I think that these are details that should be made aware to the consumer before purchase.

First, to the one reviewer who made the "truth in advertising" comment, Amazon cannot prevent people from NOT READING THE DESCRIPTIONS. Buyer, please do take note of what is included. In any event, I have preferred Calphalon's pans for years over the competition. I have used both the nonstick pans and the hard-anodized for the last 5-6 years. The nonstick pans are great! As long as you use the simple thought that you should not use anything sharp-tipped or metal, you will be using these pans for MANY years to come, no matter how much you cook.

Second, in regards to the hard-anodized finish wearing off... I second the opinion of the chef - "treat your pans as you wish to be treated". This is so often overlooked by "amateur" (as I am myself) chefs. You go to the store, want to buy quality cookware, and expect it to perform without doing anything to it over its life simply because it was expensive. If you think this way, this is not the set for you. However, if you are willing to give them a little love and care, you will not be disappointed!

I have been a Chef for about 13years now and to this day I still love these pans, I makes cooking so much easier when you have such even heat source. I have read other reviews and the biggest complaint was they are hard to clean up. My opinion is simple, Love Them and Treat them well and They will do the same for you

I recently purchased this set as a birthday gift for my wife. This is perhaps one of the best gifts I have ever given her. She loves them to death. No more sticking and she loves the fact you can put the pans into the oven. Guys. . .if you want to score points . . this set will do it.

I have been using Calphalon products for about 20 years. They are the only pan I use. My only concern is the ones from China, they are not as good as the ones made in the USA.

This is a great set for a beginner gourmet cook to upgrade that old college set of mix-match pans - with some quality equipment. Heats evenly and easy to clean up. I've had them 5 years, on 2 continents, with thousands of different ingridients in them, and they look like they are 5 weeks old.

I began purchasing Calphalon cookware the year before I got married, and we have used it as our primary cookware for nearly 7 years for our now family of 4. However, over time my most used pots no longer have the anondized exterior but now have a shiny silver interior. After all of the expense invested in the cookware we are very disappointed. I love to cook and cook a lot and have decided to rid my kitchen of the calphalon and we now own the All-Clad stainless set which as an extra bonus is dishwasher safe. Hopefully, the All-Clad will perform better than the Calphalon did. I will never purchase anything other than stainless in the future.

I think the cookware is good, however, I ordered it for a gift and when it was opened it was missing the 1 1/2 qt. sauce pan. I have made several attempts to get this corrrected and as of today 3-15-04 no response from Amazon.com.

I have always wanted a new set of these pots and pans but the cost has always been too high, this was a great deal. The order shipped right away and everything was handled well
