5.0 out of 5 stars I like it
I wanted a bigger pot than the ones that came with the ten piece set. If you're looking for a dutch oven this is it. It's the perfect size for spaghetti or fettuccine. This is the best price that I have found anywhere--online or at stores.

4.0 out of 5 stars Endlessly Useful, September 6, 2002

If you just need to boil some angel hair pasta for a couple minutes without having to break it in half, this nifty little saucier will do the trick.

Or if you're making a fancy boeuf bourguignon that's going to take a couple hours on the stovetop, and then endure the oven at 450 degrees, this pot can handle it.

And the best part? That non-stick surface makes any clean-up a breeze, without having to suffer uneven heating or undue fragility.

My only complaint is that the stainless steel handles are too thin to be very heat resistant. But if you own an oven mitt or two, that shouldn't be a problem.

You'll love this saucier pan.

4.0 out of 5 stars Handles hot, but otherwise a terrific product!, May 24, 2001

Like the previous reviewer stated, the handles on this thing get quite hot - more so on the pot itself than the lid. Make sure you've got a potholder on standby! But otherwise its just a joy to use. This was a replacement for a Revere 5qt nonstick that was part of the set I got as a wedding gift, so I made a definate step up in quality. There's just no comparison. This one cooks so much more evenly, has a nice weight to it, and has done a great job with everything I've cooked in it...Pay for quality, and you only have to buy it once!

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good product, April 23, 2001
This review is from: Calphalon Professional Nonstick II 5-Quart Saucier with Lid (Kitchen)
This is a great product, and a heck of a good price too. The only thing I dislike about this line is the handles - they get HOT, you have to use potholders. The long handles on the other saucepans and such are fine, but the short, stubby handles on this and the stick pot and the lids do get hot. I'd recommend the COMMERCIAL (as opposed to this, the "professional") non-stick series, those have handles that do stay cool, but they cost so much more, so it's not really worth it to me. Just remember to use a rag or a potholder, even to pick up the lid. Other than that I have no complaints.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very useful pot!, July 19, 2001
This review is from: Calphalon Professional Nonstick II 5-Quart Saucier with Lid (Kitchen)
This is a nice pot everyone needs as part of their collection. What made the biggest difference for me is the glass lid. I like to see my food w/o disturbing it. This pot works great for cooking things from a large pot of spaghetti sauce to a pot of red beans and rice!

4.0 out of 5 stars Not too bad, but not as good as some others, February 26, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Calphalon Professional Nonstick II 5-Quart Saucier with Lid (Kitchen)
I purchased this cooking pan a few months ago, and I think that it is a reasonably good product. I purchased this "saucier" because I had purchased an Calphalon Commercial Nonstick Set earlier, but it was missing the one size I needed. Once I saw this at the great price Amazon.com was offering it at, I snapped it up quickly. The construction is quite good, and is made in the United States of America (if you want to show that American pride), and it heats quite evenly. However, the handles get hot very quickly, so you will need potholders to move it. Also, it also seems that the dishes I make with this do not taste as good as the ones I made in my Commercial Nonstick pan. I don't know if it is just something in my mind or if it is really true. But that doesn't really matter considering the excellent price on this. Snatch it up now before they are all gone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great saucier, January 2, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Calphalon Professional Nonstick II 5-Quart Saucier with Lid (Kitchen)
What can I say? It is a deep pan with a cover that can go from the stovetop and into the oven. It is non-stick. It is what I wanted. I have used it several times and it worked well and was easy to clean. It is a good size. I could continue to wax eloquently about it, but this is all there is to it. It is a good price and a quality item.
