You get what you pay for...
I have had 3 other square griddles in the... dollar range which all cooked unevenly especially right above the circular heating element not to mention how they warped and thus are useless on a smooth top range. I make a lot of grilled cheese and french toast. This surface area allows for 4 large slices of bread. The key is following the manufactorer's instructions: Set your heating element to medium and allow the pan to heat up for 3-5 minutes. I don't adjust the heat once preheated, it cooks best just left on medium heat.

I am a big fan of calphalon, but I bought this pan and it warped. It is no longer useable on my stove. This is the only Calphalon pan I own that I have ever had problems with. Sometimes my kids cook and tend to use alot of heat, so perhaps this is why it warped. It is also not as heavy as most of my other pans. two stars is all I can give this pan.

I've been using this griddle for about 3 months now and cannot say enough about it. The non-stick coating is fabulous and when making pancakes, I do not have to use any oil or butter at all. The handle stays very cool to the touch and is easy to grip.

So far the pan has not warped in any way and is still in perfect condition. I would highly recommend this griddle for anybody who is into breakfast.

I've had this griddle for several months and it is my favorite pan in the kitchen. Nothing sticks, it heats ultra-evenly, I can make breakfast for one easily, and clean up is just 30 seconds of soap and water! It's been great with french toast, grilled sandwiches, bacon and eggs, pancakes... you name it! I've been using Calphalon Non-Stick for 10 years and this pan is equivalent quality and I expect to last at least that long!

I recently purchased this from Amazon and gave it a try this past weekend. We cooked cheese quesadillas, french toast and eggs (sunny side up) in record time. I love that I did not need to use any butter, cooking oil or Pam. Four french toasts all at once was a breeze. In a round pan, it takes me forever because I have to do them one at a time. Eggs literally slid off the griddle to the plate ... very cool! Cleanup was very easy.

This is my 1st Calphalon pan. I will definitely look at getting more of this brand.

This griddle is the best I've seen. We are tossing out our teflon coated ones and will just use this one from now on.

This griddle is wonderful. Everything comes out browned just right and doesn't have that 'stiff' texture you get sometimes with non-stick. I love it!

I like it! I can make 4 grill cheese at once. Cleans easy. I sear pork chops and then finish them off in the oven. Just wait until your pan cools before cleaning. I would buy Caphalona again.
