When I pulled these off the inside where the water seeps and drips out onto my food was full of black gung/mold/bacteria.

These will last you so long and much longer than the cheap sets you can buy and the big box stores.

Calphalon is probably best known for their chef quality cooking pans (which I also own) but they're starting to make a name for themselves with their supporting cast of cooking tools as well. I've used a broad variety of kitchen utensils over the years from super cheap wood ones to high quality Good Grips. Of them, Calphalon are among the very best. The reason is simple: extremely high build quality. All of the Calphalon utensils are made of high density plastic with slightly softer plastic handles. They are a single piece of forged nylon which makes them extremely durable. I've been using a set for over a year non-stop and they still look new. Because they are nylon, they are hugely resistant to heat and will not easily melt or deform if accidentally left in a hot pot or pan. They also will not scratch your non-stick pots and pans (or even hard anodized pans if you have them). They also each have a small eyelet that will allow you to easily hang them if that's your thing.

I love these scrapers and use them all the time. Flexible and durable at the same time, they make getting the last bits of things out of pans very easy. They're also great for making scrambled eggs. Yummy!

If you prefer professional kitchen tools, these are for you. For a slightly higher price you get a much nicer tool that will last practically forever. As well made as Calphalon's pot/pan sets, they're premium quality utensils.

I like the long handles and the size of the spatulas. The smaller size is perfect for scraping inside soup cans.

I love my Calphalon Scraper Set. I had a starter set and was extremely happy to learn that I could purchase more of the Calphalon design.

While Calphalon is traditionally known for their cookware, I have to admit that I've been very impressed with their utensils as well. In addition to these scrapers I've also bought the Calphalon Garlic Peel and Press, and everything has been great so far. The handles are very sturdy and comfortable. They remind me a lot of the OXO handle designs, which is very good. They're firm and have a nice weight, but with a soft and easy-to-grip rubberized coating.

The silicon tips are very soft and do a great job at scraping up everything I've put in front of them so far. In fact, I'm slightly concerned that they may be too soft to last a long time. After a few weeks of use they're still like new, but anything that soft does leave me wondering. But with how good of a job they've done so far I would consider replacing them every once a while to be money well spent.

These work. They scrape well, and they handle high heat. I have been using them over six months for all sorts of things, including scraping inside pots heated to 500 degrees F., and they still look new. Simple, quality product.

I bought these at the beginning of December 2010, so almost 13 months ago. They're great, they're nice and stiff with just the right amount of flexibility to get every last bit of sticky dough out of bowls. But one word of caution - these are scrapers. I usually think to myself, "Why use a mixing spoon and then a scraper? I'll just use the scraper to mix the dough." Yeah... a year of mixing cookie dough, and yesterday the small scraper had its head pull off the handle and the head was stuck in the cookie dough. The larger scraper's head pulls away a *little* from its handle, but it hasn't been completely pulled off. Thin batters are probably fine for mixing with these scrapers, but I usually mix a thick dough, not batter.

I do wash these in the dishwasher. I didn't knock a star off the rating for the heads pulling off the handles because if you use these as scrapers, what they are, they'll last far longer than they did for me. Lesson learned: Use a mixing spoon for the dough and THEN the scraper to get the last bit out of the bowl.

then these are the spatulas for you. Any stiff batter causes them to fall off, then food gets inside the head and is very difficult to get out. When you wash them you have to make sure the head stands upright to dry because otherwise when you insert the handle water squirts out. There are lots of silicone spatulas out there; nobody needs to struggle with this.

These scrapers work well and it's nice to have two different sizes. The bigger one is what I would call a "standard" home kitchen size and the other is just a bit smaller (see my customer image for more info). The handles are easy to grip, and I haven't had any problems using them in hot pans.
What I don't care for is that the heads come off and they are somewhat flimsy. I haven't had one come off in food yet because you do have to pull on them a bit to get them to come apart, but I would just prefer they didn't come apart. These are not very good for thick, heavy foodstuffs - mainly for light scraping, cleaning out bowls, jars, etc. - don't expect to pull refried beans out of a can without the handle popping off.

Pros: two sizes, affordable price, easy grip handles, stands up fine to heat
Cons: head can separate from handle, not heavy duty
