I spent weeks searching for the right set of stainless steel cookware to replace my old, moderately priced non-stick cookware. I literally looked at hundreds of sets. Let me tell you now, there is no need to look anywhere else because this Calphalon 12-piece Simply Stainless set has everything, including a price that is unbeatable ($179.99 on Amazon with free shipping). Each piece is heavy (but not break your arm heavy), well constructed, easy to clean, beautiful and, most importantly, a dream to cook with. For those of you that look at the set and wonder whether you'll be getting a set of thin, flimsy cookware, please rest assured that you will be getting anything but... I haven't tried it, nor am I planning to, but I would be willing to bet that you could whack this stuff with a claw hammer and it would do little more than scratch the surface. By the way, my Mom recently purchased a set of Cook's stainless steel cookware from a well-known department store. She had to take the set back three times because each set that she received had damaged pieces in it. For her 10-piece set, she also paid more than twice what I paid for my Calphalon, which arrived without so much as a scratch on it.

P.S. As other people have noted, make sure to buy some Bar Keeper's Friend to keep your new cookware looking like it is brand new - It is simply amazing stuff. For $1.79 a can (think Ajax or Commet), you just can't beat it.

I'm not a professional just a daily user but have used the original Calphalon, Calphalon Essentials (Target) and some Calphalon Pro series pans. The Simply Calphalon appears to me to be the most successful as it 1) cooks evenly at medium to medium high heat; 2) cleans up very easily (exception is eggs as usual) and, for the most part 3) can be cleaned in the dishwasher without ruining the good looks or the cooking surfaces. None of the anodized I used in the past survived intact an unplanned trip through the dishwasher when someone helped out with the dishes after a dinner party. And, for the price, you can buy 3 sets of Simply Calphalon before getting into All-Clad territory. I know it's not exactly "apples to apples" but for the kind of day to day cooking I do it's a best buy.

This is the best quality product. I have the set with a non-stick coating and after five years it is still in great shape. This set was for my sons wedding. On their registry the 13 pc. set was 399.00. Missing the pasta insert. No big deal. It is the same exact set otherwise and it cost 199.00.I saved 200.00!! Wow! what a deal. My daughter-inlaw absolutely loves cooking with the Calphalon set.

Great Value for the price. We love our pots and pans....easy to wash and nothing sticks.

The set heats quickly and uniformly. It is attractive, easy to use, and easy to clean. Love the glass lids and sturdy handles. They are perfect for everyday cooking - unless you are a gormet cook (in which case you are probably spending A LOT more money than these).

Let me start by saying I had originally intended to spend $450 on a set of all-clad by Calphalon. I took a chance, read the reviews here, and saved myself hundreds. The reason I didn't jump on this sooner was simply because both pans in the set looked extremely cheap, but looks can be deceiving.

This set may be made in China, but still shows some quality workmanship. All of the pots and pans are HEAVY, not a bad heavy-to-lift heavy, but a feeling that the set is solid. The handles stay nice and cool when the cookware is hot. The pots and pans heat perfectly even on an electric stove. The pans appear to have a nonstick coating, but regardless they still do not look like the cheapest Calphalon line, even though they are.

I'm only jumping the gun here because I let the look of the pans stray me away from this set, but I'm still impressed. My only concern is for the coating on the pans, and how well the pans will hold up to being used in the oven and dishwasher. I'll update this if I find any problems, but so far I don't think anything can go wrong with these.

I bought this set when we moved here from Italy in Spring 2004. I have never owned an easier to clean set of pans. Food cooks without sticking and clean up is a breeze.

For value for money - you cannot beat this set!

We ordered this set to replace a disparate set of "inherited" pots and pans.

The name and price were the two factors that lead to purchasing this set.

The product arrived when promised and packaged very securely.

Owning this set has made cooking interesting again. Items heat much more evenly and thoroughly. Handles don't get hot, however, the lids DO. Not sure if this is avoidable, but it is a minor issue.

Clean-up is a breeze (dishwasher-safe), especially the non-stick coating on the 10" skillet.

Highly recommended product.

Been using this cookware for several years now and couldn't be happier. It fulfills every claim made in the advertisment.

These are great pots and pans for the money. The bottoms are heavy so that they distribute heat evenly. The metal handles appear strong and contrary to my thinking the handles do not get hot and can be handled easily. I will buy more to increase the size of the set. The fry pans also have a great non stick surface
