Calphalon terry kitchen towel,
By
This review is from: Calphalon Terry Kitchen Towel, Lemon (Kitchen)
As expected, this is a very absorbent kitchen towel. Although the price might make one think twice before purchasing, at the end of the day its usability makes it a very good choice. In the year we have been using this product, it seems to withstand without problems the use of the "hot cycle" in the washer.

This is a quality towel that is somewhat overpriced ... but that goes with the Calphalon name, I think.
It looks good hanging on the over handle if you remember to hang it with the monigram outward ;-o}. The only downside is that this towel falls short in absorption abilities ... I ahve some older, well-worn terry towels that do a far better job. Recommended for display only...

Not too thick and Not too thin. Very absorbent and soft. Bright rich color. Love the Tomato Red. Bigger than my former towels but not too big for a kitchen towel. I also got the light green one which is very pretty too. Washed them together for their first time and no color fading or running. Has a loop if you hook yours up. VERY nice towel.

Absorbant?,
This review is from: Calphalon Terry Kitchen Towel, Black Licorice (Kitchen)
This towel does NOT absorb anything. I purchased it because of the other reviews and its brand name was also appealing. I am beginning to wonder if anyone actually tests products. These towels do not absorb near as well as a set purchased at Walmart for 1/4 of the price. What is a dish towel's purpose? I suppose Calphalon prefers looks over functional quality in a dish towel. Also, my dishes and cutting boards look fabulous with loads of lint all over them from this big, fluffy, non-absorbent, non-functional "dish towel". Oh, and yes, I did wash them before use.

These are great towels. Very absorbent and they dry more quickly than our other towels while hanging on the cabinet. Another nice feature is that the hanging loop is located in the middle of the long edge of the towel, not in a corner. This keeps the towel from touching the floor.

This is a very nice kitchen towel...
What I like the most is the fact that it has a small loop built right in the towel so you can hang it off the cabinet knob under your kitchen sink....It is always there so you can either wipe your hands or anything else that needs drying. Plus nice and soft.....The green apple is quite colorful......

This is a great looking towel but it does not absorb water. It simply spreads it around. Isn't that what a towel is for to clean up spills??

Very soft and absorbent. I've machine washed and dried them several times and they are still good as new!

I'm a very picky person and I've had terrible luck finding a kitchen towel that won't shed.
I listened to the positive reviews and bought 4. As soon as I took them out of the plastic I noticed that threads were dangling off of the towels. I put them through the washer (cold water) and dryer (medium heat) and still black fuzzies are falling off. I tried using them to dry off my kitchen counter and it left a black streak. I wouldn't recommend this product.

Worst Kitchen Towels Ever Used,
By
This review is from: Calphalon Terry Kitchen Towel, Black Licorice (Kitchen)
I am a chef on a private yacht and these are by far the worst kitchen towels I have ever used.
We have two sets, one in black and one in the taupe color, and neither are absorbent. Instead they seem to spread the water around when you are attempting to dry any item. The black also gives of huge amounts of lint all over the white china and glassware, making it necessary to wipe them again with paper towels to remove the lint. I have heard nothing but complaints about these towels from the rest of the crew on board, so these have got to go! I'll be looking for towels with more consistent reviews from now on, and focus on function instead of brand name or style. Look somewhere else for good towels! I would give these towels ZERO stars if possible. |
