Fully forged from a single piece of German high-carbon stainless steel, this 8-inch knife with its straight edge and deep serrations ("scallops" in knife-speak) is ideal for slicing crusty loaves of bread, with the serrations' points easily penetrating the hardest crusts. A bolster provides balance and safety, and additional balance and strength come from the full tang running through the handle, which is formed of hygienic, fiberglass-reinforced poly that won't crack, split, or chip and is attached to the tang with the traditional three rivets. The high-carbon stainless-steel blade takes and holds a fine edge and it won't rust, stain, or discolor. A quality knife like this should be hand washed. It carries a lifetime warranty against defects.
