Full Lifetime Warranty

Calphalon will replace any item found defective in material or workmanship when put to normal household use and cared for according to the instructions. Minor imperfections, surface markings as a result of shipping, and slight color variations are normal. This excludes damage from misuse or abuse, such as improper cleaning, neglect, accident, alteration, fire, theft, or use in a commercial establishment.

Durable, Triple-Layer Stainless Steel Construction

The triple-layer design of Tri-Ply Stainless Steel allows for more even, consistent cooking versus conventional stainless steel cookware.

A dense aluminum core provides the foundation, which is then wrapped in two layers of stainless steel, to deliver better conduction and fewer "hot spots" - allowing you total mastery, regardless of what you're cooking.

Superb Browning

The durable, non-porous surface is safe for use with all utensils and excellent for browning and producing fond for superb pan sauces.

Oven and Broiler Safe

Tri-Ply Stainless is oven and broiler safe, so it's perfect for handling your roasts, poultry, and more up to 500 degrees Farenheit.

Induction Range Capable

Some stainless steel pots and pans won't work with induction cooktops, but Calphalon Classic Stainless Steel cookware features bases designed to work with induction ranges, giving you more options in the kitchen.

Dishwasher Safe

Calphalon Tri-Ply Stainless Steel Cookware is constructed from stainless steel that makes it dishwasher safe.

Resists Corrosion and Scratches

The durable cookware surface won't corrode, or scratch from your cooking utensils.

Stay-Cool Steel Handles

The long, cast stainless steel handles stay comfortably cool, even when the cookware is hot, and have a lightweight, ergonomic design that makes it comfortable to hold pans for extended periods. Handles are double-riveted by hand for durability and stability.

Tempered-Glass Lids

Clear tempered-glass lids let you see food while it's cooking. They are oven safe, so you can finish covered dishes in the oven or keep them warm until you're ready to serve. The domed design returns moisture to food. Wide metal bands strenghten and stabilize the lids.

It evenly heats and is easy to clean.

Those little brown bits at the bottom of the pan make the most wonderful sauces and add so much flavor to soups or stews!

I have been very happy with the overall weight of the pans (not too heavy, not too light) and the lids.

It was finally time to get rid of the old cookware now that the kids are out of the house and I didn't have to worry about ruined cookware anymore. My plan was 3 mil copper cookware or All Clad. But after seeing this in the store, feeling the weight and quality and then reading a lot of reviews ... I decided to give it a try. My final price with coupon was $320 at BB&Beyond.

First, this cookware is excellent but you have to know how to use it. Put the empty pan on the heat at the temperature that you want to cook at. Wait about 2-3 minutes and then add a little oil or butter (but have your food ready or your butter will burn) and heat for about 20 seconds (butter) to 1 minute (oil). Then add your food. Eggs work excellent this way and just slide off the pan. I have also used chicken broth to cook the egg in (just wanted to see if it would stick) and it did not. So as long as your pan is at the correct temperature and you add some kind of liquid you will be ok.

I like that the lids fit a lot of different pans so if you break one you probably have another on hand. I like that you can see through the glass but I do prefer unbreakable lids. They are heavy and have stood up well.

The fry pans have all been used several times and are the right sizes. The sauce pans have been used a lot and I did a chocolate sauce test between the smaller one and a copper pot I have of the same size. Cooking 1 cup heavy cream, 3/4 cup bittersweet chocolate chips and 1 tbsp. vanilla in both pans at the same temp ... the copper pot was 40 seconds faster to completion. That was with pre-heating both pans. Starting with a cold pan the copper pot won by 3 minutes 35 seconds. This was very acceptable as I also used one of my old cheap pans and it took much longer and did not cook evenly.

This pan is a fantastic workhorse. It's the 'go-to' pan in my kitchen. It goes from stove-top to oven/broiler without missing a beat and without doubts from the cook. Heats evenly and quickly, and the handle stays cool (on the stovetop), unlike some much more expensive copper pans with cast-iron handles I've used. This pan meets or exceeds the French & Belgian copper I've used, in terms of kitchen performance; the only place it might rate 2nd is in the aesthetics area, if one prefers a copper/cast iron look and European pedigree. The Calphalon was made in China.
But honestly, the Calphalon pan is one I never have to second guess - it does exactly what is asked of it.
For anyone with qualms about foods catching in the pan, do the following:

1. Pre-heat the pan on MEDIUM heat prior to putting any food/oil/butter in it. Once the pan is hot, one can add the food. For example, I've put raw, unseasoned steaks in this pan once it's hot. The meat will adhere for 20-30 seconds until the pan-side is seared, then can be moved, turned, etc. quite as easily as if the pan had a Teflon coating. Eggs also are loose, as long as they've been put into a hot pan that has had a bit of butter added. A fried egg slides around after 20-30 seconds as though it was on ice, as long as one has begun with a HOT PAN.

2. This pan heats up nicely at 60-75% of the burner heat capacity; i.e., if your burner goes from "0" (cold) to "15" (max heat), you shouldn't need to turn it above "11" to get a nicely heated pan that will respond to your culinary desires. Remember - it goes to "11."

3. Throw this pan into the oven at 300-F for hours, or under a hot broiler for 10 minutes. And forget about it - I have had no warping or any problems whatsoever.

4. The pan cleans easily.

For some reason the Amazon page doesn't give the actual height of the sides once its out of the box; it is about 2 7/8" if you want to know. I bought this to replace an All-Clad Petite Rosti pan. To me this is the better pan hands down.

Here's why. (1) This pan is actually clad, with stainless steel surrounding an interior aluminum core. The All-Clad pan does not have the aluminum center. So I expect this one to conduct heat better. (2) This pan is certainly is a lot lighter (I compared the weight before I gave the old one to Goodwill). I think its lighter because it has the aluminum core. (3) The bottom is pretty flat. The bottom of the All-Clad is kind of convex, which makes it harder to use over an electric burner or flat stovetop. And it is hard to make gravy in the All-Clad since the juices you're cooking down roll to the sides, but the flat bottom of this pan makes it a snap. (4) Both pans include a roasting rack, but this one does not have the two bars across the bottom that come on the All-Clad so it is much easier to clean. I have not seen a problem holding chickens in it even though the two bars are not present. (5) This pan is significantly less expensive, at least here on Amazon.

My wife and I bought this set from a different retailer and have been very happy with the product so far. I have always used stainless steel and my wife non-stick. We were looking at some non-stick sets, but heard from several sources that regardless of the brand you can't count on the non-stickiness to last more than two to three years. Faced with buying a new set every few years, we opted to go for the stainless steel. It can be harder to clean, but lasts much longer.

We looked at Calphalon and All Clad, but opted for the Calphalon due to the lower price and more complete set. A store clerk told us that the All Clad is ultimately a better crafted product (Barefoot Contessa uses All Clad, after all), but for the average home cook you won't see too big a difference. Also - we liked the glass lids so that we can see things cook without letting the heat escape. The All Clad sets we looked at all had stainless steel lids - probably to hold more heat, but again not a difference we are likely to notice.

I like how substantial these feel. They have some heft. My old stainless steel set was the Wolfgang Puck collection picked up several years ago at Costco. They were fine, but the Calphalon set feels better and seems to heat more evenly. The metal is thicker on this collection. I like it.

Some tips - use lower temperature. You will rarely need more than medium heat on an electric range. Don't force food to flip - proteins like chicken or beef will stick to the pan but release when they are ready. Don't use aerosol oil sprays - buy an oil spritzer or let the pan heat up and apply a thin coat of oil with a paper towel. Buy Bar Keeper's Friend - this powder cleaner will take care of spots, scorch marks, and burned spots and keep the pieces looking like new.
