Calphalon Tri-Ply Stainless 2-1/2-Quart Saucepan with Glass Lid

This pan along with several others I have acquired from the Calphalon Tri-Ply line is fantastic. Great weight and balance, superb craftsmanship, the glass lids fit snugly and most important of all, the pricing is terrific. I have All-Clad and yes, it is wonderful but quite frankly I find myself asking why spend more when you can get equal quality for quite a bit less. And it is still made in U.S.A.!

This saucepan is a convenient size. It heats up well and maintains the heat. The glass dome lids are great. Very sturdy and seems like it will last a lifetime. The clean up is also VERY easy. Stuck on food and sauces come off easily with a little soaking and if that doesn't work the cleaning pad and Bon Ami cleanser finishes it off with little effort. A great investment.

great pot with solid construction that also looks very good. only con is that it's a bit heavy to work with, but that's not uncommon for a well-built stainless steel pot. It's also a bit small to be used other than making sauce; say if you want to use it to make some soup, it will just make enough for 2 to 3 people.

works excellent, as other reviews suggested, this seems to be the most complete package of against the allclad equivilent. lit fits snug and secure, pot size and shape is just perfect for "normal" use, cooking rice or sauce, even boiling water for some pasta for 1 or 2 people.

I purchased several Calphalon Tri-Ply pots at a local kitchen store. I chose to go a la carte rather than buying a set because I don't need all the pans in any of the sets. The store didn't carry this pot in the 2-1/1 quart size. This is the perfect pot for cooking vegetables, steaming, warming soup, etc. This is the one go-to pot in my kitchen.

As far as the product line goes, I've been very happy with the Calphalon Tri-Ply. They heat quickly, and clean up beautifully. The only quibble I have at all is that there is a steel band around the edge of the glass lid, and the seam in the band is not perfectly smooth. In fact, the dishcloth/sponge catches in it when I (hand wash) the pots. FYI, the manufacturer recommends that, to keep the nice shiny finish on the pots, they be hand-washed rather than put in the dishwasher. I haven't experimented with the dishwasher, but I have friends who put their stainless pots in the dishwasher all the time.

This is a versatile little saucepan that can be used for a number of things. Well constructed and with a glass lid, I find myself using this for much more than I originally intended.
