Well, "um" My dad has my first Calphalon pan. He stole it from me. ha, ha...He loves it to cook my mom breakfast.
So, I needed a new one. This pan has a triple-coated nonstick interior - nothing sticks, it just slips around. Trust me, this is important when frying eggs. There is also a certain sound that seems to be unique to these pans. The food not only cooks well, it sounds good while it is cooking. Yeah, that sounds strange, but you will see what I mean. These pans just have a touch of class to them that is unequalled. The tri-ply stainless construction includes an aluminum core. It is meticulously crafted and the pan sits flat and doesn't move, even on the flat cooktops. The heat distribution is great. Flared Rim and sloped sides perfect for omelets or sautéing Stay Cool Handle - very impressive, didn't even get warm 100% dishwasher safe This pan is also oven safe to 450 degrees, however they don't recommend you use this for broiler use as it will damage the nonstick surface of the pan. I was skeptical because on a flat cooking surface, many pans will actually start spinning. This pan just sat there and that was impressive. The base is completely flat and that is the beauty. You would be amazed at how many pans are not completely flat. Covered by a lifetime Warranty so they will repair or replace any item that is found to be defective. I have a wide range of cookware. The Calphalon Tri-Ply stainless is the best I've found. Other stainless with an aluminum disk on the bottom only are the worst I've found. The non-stick on the Calphalon Tri-Ply is the best, and this little 8" is one of my favorite pans. So why only 4 stars? The handle could be a little larger, but my only real complaint is about the Tri-Ply line, in general. Although the Calphalon Tri-Ply is a much better value than All Clad, the line is so small (basically only omelette pans, sauce pans, and a stock pot), that this pan is the unmatched odd-ball since I had to go to other brands or lines for a wok, griddle, casserole, steamer, etc., etc. It's too bad, too. The All Clad stainless line is so much more comprehensive, but compare the price on this pan alone and the Tri-Ply is 1/4!

I have a fair collection of tri-ply stainless, all-clad, meyer, etc. I purchased a pair of these pans for bruch cooking. Theyworth every penny, even though they are imported (China). Fit, finish, and balance excellent. Worth twice the price.
