Mikuni has been making carburetors for as long as I can remember, and this is another high quality carb in a long line of them. Total time to remove old carb and replace with this one was about 45 minutes. Symptoms before: Wouldn't idle at all, weak power, and exhaust would glow cherry red just sitting and running (had to hold throttle). Smoked black smoke. After replacement: Fired right up with no adjustments needed. Idled like a new one. Great power. Exhaust didn't glow cherry red. No smoke. The choke works. Awesome carb for twenty bucks more than a rebuild kit.

My grizzly was worked on by a dealer who, instead of slapping a new carb on it, adjusted the timing, the idle all the way out, the accelerator out to make it kind of idle...sometimes. They replaced a piston and ring which no doubt melted from the intense heat of a carb running rich. Why they didn't put a carb on it is beyond me. Look, gas tank additives are about ten bucks each. Just buy this carb and slap it on, don't screw around and waste your money with a fix that may not work.
