In the short space of about 170 pages, here is a nice introduction to the great French reformer whose influence resounds through the centuries to this day. The human side of Calvin, including his ongoing vocation as pastor, not just theologian, is a pleasant surprise in so slim a volume. Reading this book makes you yearn to know even more about the man and his ideas, so now, on to The Institutes!
