Good Abridged Version,

This is a very well done abridged version of Calvin's Institutes. I'm not sure why, but apparently, Amazon is linking the reviews for the Donald McKim edited version and the Shepherd's Notes version. They are very different! All of the reviews that say that McKim leaves out Book IV are talking about the Shepherd's Notes version. This indeed includes a very good section of Book IV, speaking about the church, sacraments, and church government.

John Calvin's "Institutes" is not the easiest read. As a new student of theology, I find it necessary to reread his material. The abridged version breaks doen most of the sections, making it easier to get the gist of what he is saying. I recommend this book, especially if you are going to be using his material for study.
