Informative as usual for Bradt guides,
By Carno Polo "adventure traveler" (Rome, Italy) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Cambodia: The Bradt Travel Guide (Bradt Guides) (Paperback)
This is a great guide by Bradt. As always, it is highly informative on culture, history, art and society. It is clearly written and rich of many drawings, maps and plans of the main sights that will help you orientate yourself as you visit. The book is light enough you can carry it all day. There is also a useful bibliography for those like me who like to read a lot about countries they visit!
A guide to the cultural attractions of this emerging destination. Explore the grand ruins of Ankor Wat's temples, as well as areas of Cambodia just opening up to travellers, with this practical and thorough guide. There is not as much on hotels and restaurants, and in any case this information quickly becomes obsolete, and these days is best found online. But I still refer to this book ten years after publication for its substantial content on what makes Cambodia, and that is not going to change when I go back even a few more years down the line. I would go for Lonely Planet or Routard for making reservations, but would carry this with me at all times to learn about Cambodia.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Cambodia: The Bradt Travel Guide (Bradt Guides) (Paperback)
I bought this book after I came back from a trip to Cambodia in order to learn more about the places I had visited. The book is accurate and gives good details on the background and history of the various places in Cambodia. Highly worth it! I bought my copy from a Amazon seller - not directly from Amazon - and the front page was on backwards. It didn't detract from the material but seemed a little weird!
