The DVD99 scales images to 1080p for outstanding picture quality with the latest flat panel displays, making HDMI technology available to a wide audience at a competitive price. Front-panel USB Connection There is also a USB connection on the front panel, so that audio and video content from suitable devices can be conveniently accessed. As with all Cambridge Audio products, the DVD99 delivers its excellent performance with both movies and music. Some so-called 'universal' disc players don't play every format. But not the Cambridge Audio. With CD, SACD, DVD-Video and DVD-Audio playback, the DVD99 is compatible with a plethora of discs, including DVD +/-R / RW, CD / CD-R / CD-RW, MPEG4, DiVX, and digital photo albums. Progressive Scan Output You can output either interlaced video, or opt for progressive scan video for film-like smoothness with DVDs. The attractive front panel of the Cambridge shows via a simple series of LEDs which resolution is in use: 1080p, 1080i, 720p, or 480p. Onboard Dolby Digital processing gives you great surround sound output via the six-channel analog outputs. In addition to its HDMI connectivity the DVD99 also provides DVI support, plus connections for SCART, composite video, S-video, and component video via gold-plated terminals.
