5.0 out of 5 stars A small big astronomy book, October 19, 2006
By
Carlos Santillan (Mexico City, Mexico.) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Cambridge Pocket Star Atlas (Paperback)
Do not let the small size of this star atlas to mislead you (48pp) I bought this Cambridge Pocket Star Atlas with the intention of replacing another star atlas that I lost, and my surprise was big when I discovered that this booklet includes detailed descriptions and easy to understand explanations for such a concepts (to lay people like me) as Declination and Right Ascension, equinoxes, meridian passage, Apparent visual magnitude & Absolute visual magnitude, the Spectral types (O, B, A, F, G, K, M), Synodic Period, etc.

For years I had been observing the night sky by identifying the stars and the constellations only, but since when I read this Cambridge Pocket Star Atlas I can feel that I am, at least, an amateur astronomer. Buy this one, it's highly recommend.
