Perfect for music or home theather, these Cambridge SoundWorks entry-level Ambiance In-wall speakers combine wide-range natural sound quality with incredible installation ease. The 5 1/4-inch woofer ensures perfectly balanced sound without taking up much space. The speakers are mountable in either a wall or a ceiling and allow for optimum performance by adjusting the wide-dispersion tweeters toward your listening area, providing natural stereo imaging throughout the room. Most remarkable is how easy the installation job is with the Ambiance In-Walls. The automatic swing-arm mounting system, which requires no additional brackets, makes the installation as easy as 1-2-3. Available in white, Ambiance In-Walls are also paintable. Painting instructions and a paint shield are included to help keep paint from where it doesn't belong. Thin fabric (not included) can also be stretched across the standard grille material to match or contrast with the surrounding décor.

Sounds OK, but very shy on bass. I called Cambridge and they even stated this speaker needs a sub to sound great. Installed in my living room and it sort of sounds like a table radio is on, which is a bummer when you realize that I'm pumping around 75 watts per channel into it with bass on full blast.

I have had these speakers for several years in the wall of my bedroom and I hate them. Very poor bass, and generally muddy sound. Similar to other reviewer, even driving with high power you get weak sound. I have Canton in-wall speakers througout the rest of my house, and they are a thousand times better, but I had bought these CS speakers before I knew better. I will probably replace them with Canton if I can find a pair that will fiut in the same cutout, or will maybe cheap out and try the Polk's, which from the reviews people seem to like, and they are very reasonably priced.
