Camco 42160 RV Refrigerator Vent Cover

I installed the vent cover on the roof of my Winn. Itasca with no problems -easy off with old cracked cover with 4 Phillip screws sitting on top of the cover, my refrig is the Dometic and the new cover is marked on top to fit either the Norcold (N) or (D) for Dometic and comes with new screws. The Camco cover is solid and it looks like it was factory installed.

Pro's: Well constructed, perfect fit and easy to install.
Con's: Has a paper decal on top that is impossible to remove.

Purchased this along w/ the base (which you need to have), to replace the old metal one on my camper. The instructions offer a couple of different base choices when installing, so apparently you are not limited to which base you buy or replace the cover on. But once my base was installed, all you have to do is set it down in counter sunk holes (not very deep so it's kinda hard to keep lined up), and run 4 long screws (provided) into the base. This is makes the vent look sleek and aerodynamic looking. The cover seems sturdy enough to last for a few years.

It was exactly as described online and I am very satisfied with the product quality. I would highly recommend this product.

Changing the vent cover was easier than I expected.

All I needed to do was dig out the chalk in the screw holes on the original cover and unscrew 4 screws. Once the old cover was down I chose the correct marks on the top of the new cover and drilled out the caps so the screw holes would align correctly then climb up on top of the RV and match up the screw holes and screw in 4 screws. As a little added protection I put a glob of clear silicone on top of the 4 screws and I was done.

The shape of the new cover seems to me more aerodynamic and since it does not have square corners on the leading edge I am hoping it will be less likely to take low branches with it.

this is suppose to be a direct replacement model, but it does not fit and you can not make it fit. had to buy original.

The Camco frig vent cover replaced an original smaller cover perfectly. It is more aerodynamic than the original.
