Bought this base and cover to replace an old metal one on my camper that occasionally leaked during heavy rain. i have had a few heavy downpours this summer, and being lower to roof seems to work great. The base was easy to install...a little larger than my metal one, which is great; centered over the hole and put putty strips down, and screwed it in place. Hopefully it will hold up.

This is a Norcold vent base. Although it seemed to fit fine where my Dometic vent base was. It is shorter and doesn't have plastic wings that extend up. I don't see how it will effect the performance of the refrigerator, however. It comes with all the screws you'll need, but does not come with the butyl tape you need: Camco 25013 RV Universal Vent Installation Kit with Butyl Tape
