I unique gift for a new baby. I have given several at baby showers and invariably someone asks me about it. Absolutely a favorite with my granddaughters.

I didn't really expect my son to like this as much as he does. It makes a nice clicking noise when you shake it so that the bead slides back and forth, and I've used it to get his attention for photos. He started liking it around 4 months and is 6 m.o. now. Of course he also loves to stare at his own hands, but he does like to sit and look at this. One thing that I have wondered about is the choking implications of the bead. If the little bar slid a bit then the bead would come off. I doubt that they've used some sort of glue since that could be toxic, and if it is just held in by pressure then it seems like it would be possible for it to come out. I haven't tried because I don't want to break the toy, but it is a concern in the back of my mind so I don't let him play with it on his own. You could buy the ring without the bead, but IMO the bead and noise is what he likes to much about this.

This is obviously a very nice quality piece, but it isn't a "true" rattle IMO--the wooden ball is solid, and just slides back and forth, making a clacking sound when it hits the edges. I was expecting the ball itself to be a rattle. My 7 month old likes this, and I like that it's MIA and not plastic, but he seems to like his colorful Kringlering better.

This is a quality wooden rattle. My daughter became interested in it at around 9 mo. First as a teether. Now at 1 yr she likes the clacking sound of the rattle. It fits nicely in her hand and is smooth and strong. If like us, you are trying to avoid a plastic jungle i think you would be happy with this toy.

It was smaller than I imagined it but it fit my baby's hand wonderfully. It's beautiful and well made. My 5 month old son seems to like gnawing on this way more than on any of the rubber or silicone teethers he has. I could keep raving about this rattle, but I'll just sum it up with saying that it is definitely worth buying. We are very happy with it!

I really wanted to love this item for my 5 month old baby, but the wood was too rough. I'm not sure if I received a defectively made rattle, but it feels rough to the touch and you could even see the uneven/scratchy surfaces. Unfortunately, it was given to my baby before I examined it, and my baby ended up with a bright red rash on his face and arms from the scratchy wood.

This rattle has a beautiful shape. It fits good in the hands of the baby. It has a nice natural sound - not these plastic sounds - and it is made from organic wood!

We love this rattle, even though dd has not played with it too often yet, but we love the natural sound of the wood clacking, the feel of the smoothly polished wooden edges and smell, it will make a lasting toy in my books and dd so far enjoys playing with it for as long as she manages to hold it in her hands.
If you want the natural feel for your children toy's this is the toy to have.

This toy will be a gift for our grandchild who isn't born yet. I wanted to have something that is made in the USA and it is solid wood. I am sure that it will be passed down for years to come.
