5.0 out of 5 stars CamelBak kid bottle - an amazing solution
After trying so many bottles, some of which promised to be "dripless" but failed, we heard of the Camelbak and we LOVE IT.
It's so easy to assemble, easy to clean (dishwasher safe!!!)and no matter hwo many times our kids would drop it and twist it it's still spill-free and not a drop of liquid is to be found outside teh bottle. We've even discovered, by chance, that...

3.0 out of 5 stars not easy to clean
i like the adult version of camelbak cup. so i think the kid's old will be great too. But it turns out that it is not easy to take valve out for cleaning. So if you use this cup for juice or milk, you will see dirty stuff build up around valve.

5.0 out of 5 stars CamelBak kid bottle - an amazing solution, October 5, 2009

After trying so many bottles, some of which promised to be "dripless" but failed, we heard of the Camelbak and we LOVE IT.
It's so easy to assemble, easy to clean (dishwasher safe!!!)and no matter hwo many times our kids would drop it and twist it it's still spill-free and not a drop of liquid is to be found outside teh bottle. We've even discovered, by chance, that if you forget to insert the plastic straw after washing it, the bottle is still usable by simply tilting it up and drinking (like regular bottle), as long as you place the mouth-piece on top.
We recomend it to anyone!

I purchased this for my 9 month old son since he always tries to "steal" my grown-up size CamelBak bottle. I'm very surprised that he knows how to drink from it at his age, but he does! Much better than any sippy cup we've purchased. The only thing I have an issue with is cleaning the straw and the bite valve. It is top-rack dishwasher safe, however it seems to collect food and such during the cycle. I only put water in it, so I've just been soaking it in bleach & water to clean it. CamelBak makes a cleaning system for their other products so I'm hoping it will work on this as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic water bottle, August 28, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I have the larger camelbak bottles but for my daughter going to kindergarten I thought a smaller one would be easier to lug around. The only problem we have is that this one has a button to push at the front to get the bite valve to pop up and its too hard for her to use, I just switched out the top from another bottle and its fine.

5.0 out of 5 stars Camelback for Kids, July 13, 2010

This review is from: CamelBak 0.4-Liter Kids Bottle (Sports)
Great product. My 17 month old was always stealing my Camelbak, but I was afraid he would swallow the bite valve so I bought him this one and the stainless steal one. He loves them. The valve on this bottle is still a bite valve, but it does not come off the cap like the adult versions do--it is actually inserted through the cap from the bottom so he can chew all day on it and it won't come out. My son won't use other kinds of similar bottles because you have to tip them to use them. He used straw sippy cups so I wanted to find a straw water bottle for him. So far, this has been quite durable and we take it everywhere. Good, safe product. Other reviewers said they have trouble cleaning this bottle, cap, and valve. I am not sure why. The valve and straw are easily removed for cleaning.

4.0 out of 5 stars kids loved them, but doesn't stay as cold as metal versions, June 16, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
My kids loved these right off the bat. The 2 year old had no trouble drinking from it and he hasn't bitten the bite valve clear off although apparently you can get replacement valves and straws from REI. They love to put their own ice and water in, and come running to do so or if they hear me doing it for them. I use the Munchkin Flexible Dishwasher Basket, Assorted to put the straws in the dishwasher and only use it for water so it doesn't taste funny the next time. I also got the next size up since I have to refill this one if it's a long day, but the designs aren't as cute. It does not stay cold, though - so I took one star away. I have a kleen canteen metal bottle that I use for myself and it acts as an ice pack in the cooler it stays so cold, whereas these turn ambient temperature very quickly. I did end up getting a new one in the metal version CamelBak 0.4-Liter Kids Stainless Steel Bottle and the outside of the bottle stays really cold which makes it a bit hard for little hands to hold.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Water Bottle for Kids, June 21, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I purchased this water bottle when I purchased one for myself. I love the straw feature. The mouth piece can be tucked away to be kept clean. The bottle itself is very sturdy for a plastic bottle. My son did not have a hard time getting accustomed to the mouth piece. He enjoys carrying it by the handle and can hang it on the hook beside him in our van. This is going to be perfect for school. The first bottle I ordered had a glitch. The mouth piece would not stay down on its own. It would pop up even when there was no water in it. I contacted Amazon and they shipped another one out the next day. I am very impressed with the way Amazon handled the exchange! The second bottle has no problems at all. I have even noticed that it does not leak when on its side. I would confidently recommend this bottle to anyone!

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally, a lunch bag bottle that doesn't leak!, October 21, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
After three years of searching for a lunch bag drink container that doesn't leak, I have found it! Most bottles work just fine when I pack lunch in the morning, then place the bag in the backpack so that the drink is upright. However, after lunch, my children toss their drink bottles into their lunch bags, paying no attention to bottle orientation in their frenzy to get onto the playground as quickly as possible. I have spent three years drying out lunch bags, backpacks, and folders, while cursing drink bottle makers. I could always send my kids with pre-packaged juice containers, but we are trying to be (and make our children) more ecologically and financially conscious, so reusable drink containers were an easy change that can make a big difference.

I also like these bottles because they are BPA free. The lid screws on tightly and the sipper straw folds back onto itself for a leak-proof seal. I purchased three of these and am very happy with my purchase. There are many designs, so I was able to find one for my "princess," "tom boy," and "all boy" personalities.

Amazon was quick and economical, as always.

2.0 out of 5 stars CamelBak, March 5, 2011

This cup is great, but nothing like the adult version of CamelBak's water bottle. It leaked as soon as I put water in it.
