After trying so many bottles, some of which promised to be "dripless" but failed, we heard of the Camelbak and we LOVE IT.
It's so easy to assemble, easy to clean (dishwasher safe!!!)and no matter hwo many times our kids would drop it and twist it it's still spill-free and not a drop of liquid is to be found outside teh bottle. We've even discovered, by chance, that if you forget to insert the plastic straw after washing it, the bottle is still usable by simply tilting it up and drinking (like regular bottle), as long as you place the mouth-piece on top.
We recomend it to anyone!

I purchased this for my 9 month old son since he always tries to "steal" my grown-up size CamelBak bottle. I'm very surprised that he knows how to drink from it at his age, but he does! Much better than any sippy cup we've purchased. The only thing I have an issue with is cleaning the straw and the bite valve. It is top-rack dishwasher safe, however it seems to collect food and such during the cycle. I only put water in it, so I've just been soaking it in bleach & water to clean it. CamelBak makes a cleaning system for their other products so I'm hoping it will work on this as well.

I have the larger camelbak bottles but for my daughter going to kindergarten I thought a smaller one would be easier to lug around. The only problem we have is that this one has a button to push at the front to get the bite valve to pop up and its too hard for her to use, I just switched out the top from another bottle and its fine.

My husband and I both have the adult bottles and love them. So when I decided to stop buying juice boxes and pouches for my kids' lunches and start packing water or flavored drinks in a reusable bottle to save some money, I was excited to see these smaller CamelBaks.

The first few times we used them, we loved them. They were super easy for the kids to use (ages 4 and 7) and we loved the designs. Cleaning wasn't a problem because as I said, we were used to the adult versions. Then I started to notice drips in their lunch boxes.

My daughter's was covered in pink spots from her fruit punch, my sons the same. My son's backpack was soaked with water one day (after I wised up from using drinks that were colored). Then my husband noticed my daughter's wouldn't stay closed. Even when you pushed the spout down, after a few seconds it popped back up. Worst yet, when we would leave them on the kitchen table, I would come back to a soaked ring (this wasn't a happy find with grape kool-aid inside).

It seems that when we pressed the spout to allow the liquid caught in it to go down, it didn't. If we left it, when it warmed a bit droplets would start coming out of the crevices around the spout. had I known all of this before I spend $13.00 on each one, I would have opted for something else. I am totally disappointed with this purchase.

I did read a few reviews that stated customer service has told them the cup is "Spill Proof" and not "Leak Proof". Perhaps I read this wrong in which case, shame on me. But the fact that the spout won't stay closed or in the down position AND it bubbles up and leaks out the spout no matter what, it doesn't scream worthwhile.

I actually bought this for my 1-year old because he figured out how to use mine and preferred it over his bottle or sippy cups, and it doesn't leak! The fact that he has to bite is also likable, because of his teething. The rubber is soothing on his gums and new teeth. The loop on the lid makes it easy for him to carry it around, even with his blankie in the same hand, and it makes it easy for me to clip it to his diaper bag or stroller to carry along when not in use. The only reason I hesitate to give it 5 stars is that he's too little right now to use the push button to flip it open, so I do that for him and then he carries it everywhere with the tip up. I'm sure he'll figure it out as he gets older--and isn't it great that this can be cool even as he grows? The great thing is that he drinks a lot more water now, and it's easy to clean!

Great product. My 17 month old was always stealing my Camelbak, but I was afraid he would swallow the bite valve so I bought him this one and the stainless steal one. He loves them. The valve on this bottle is still a bite valve, but it does not come off the cap like the adult versions do--it is actually inserted through the cap from the bottom so he can chew all day on it and it won't come out. My son won't use other kinds of similar bottles because you have to tip them to use them. He used straw sippy cups so I wanted to find a straw water bottle for him. So far, this has been quite durable and we take it everywhere. Good, safe product. Other reviewers said they have trouble cleaning this bottle, cap, and valve. I am not sure why. The valve and straw are easily removed for cleaning.

I was so tired of always having spilled juice/water in my bag (i keep their "spill-proof" cups in my big purse when we got out) so I invested a little more and bought the stainless steel version of these from another website. Great, except the stainless steel can't go in the dishwasher & we had to use bottle scrubbers and even then I didn't feel super comfortable with the smell in them. The painted designs were slightly chipping off and then my 2 year old son did what I had been trying my hardest to avoid: he lost his $20 cup. So then I came to amazon and bough the BPA-free plastic version and I LOVE them. They really don't leak. There is liquid trapped in the bite-straw portion that will gradually leak out but it's limited to that small volume. I could probably squeeze that out before loading them up in my purse if I cared enough. The bite straw took a little while for them to learn & they rejected these cups the first two times I offered it to them, but then again, my children are 4 and 2. Once they learned, these were their instant favorite cups. And their friends' favorite cups. Everyone wants to drink out of their cups. i take these apart and throw them in the dishwasher & life is less complicated than with the stainless steel version. They love hooking their finger through the loop and carrying them around that way and they also get a huge kick out of pressing the button to make the straw flip up. And the straws are LONG and even reach down to the bottom of the bottle so that I don't have to refill the drink until it really is empty. I also haven't noticed the paint chipping off. Oh, and one was accidentally placed next to a waffle-iron-in-use and it only slightly warped the bottle; it's still usable. They're also cheaper and much lighter than the stainless steel version. I will be buying two more for my children since they're the only cups I will put in my purse when we go out now. I even want one for me, that's how much I love them!
