4.0 out of 5 stars Great Pack for Female Runners Too
Amazon lists this pack for men, but the truth is it works for EVERYBODY. It doesn't say male or female on the label. You don't have to be a guy (or even be built like one) to enjoy the benefits of the Classic Camelbak. I gave in and bought one after having trouble finding decent reviews for women's versions (I tried one on in the store before coming back to Amazon). All...

3.0 out of 5 stars Excellent for hydrating on the run
Need both of your hands for a protest, or some other activity? Want to stay hydrated on those hot tropic days?
This camelbak does the job! A little hard to clean, but the models with straps are much more useful to wear.
Just keep it dry and clean when you aren't using it, or you will want to replace the bladder.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Pack for Female Runners Too, September 12, 2007
This review is from: CamelBak Men's Classic 2.1-Liter Hydration Pack (Sports)
Amazon lists this pack for men, but the truth is it works for EVERYBODY. It doesn't say male or female on the label. You don't have to be a guy (or even be built like one) to enjoy the benefits of the Classic Camelbak. I gave in and bought one after having trouble finding decent reviews for women's versions (I tried one on in the store before coming back to Amazon). All of the straps are very adjustable (the chest strap can be lowered a lot or pulled or off), and they feel very smooth (no sharp edges) for nylon. It has a zippered pocket that has enough room for a car key, 2-3 gels, and a small cell phone. If you add cold water, it insulates it and keeps it cold til the very end. So far I've taken my Classic on a few 4-16 mile runs with me (including a 10-miler on a 90-degree day), and I am happy with it.

There's only two things I'd really change:

1) The straps get looser the longer you run (as you drink) so it continually has to be tightened during long runs. It seems like adding some sort of bungie/elastic in the straps may help.

2) It needs a key clip in the pocket. The CamelBak Catalyst has this kind of function, and it really makes life easier as I don't worry about losing my car key while reaching in for a gel.

Other than that, I am *very* pleased with this pack. I heartily recommend this pack for both male and female runners.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for running, May 12, 2007

This is the perfect source of water for those runs that demand hydration. It fits securely and weighs around 5 pounds when full of water, so it is not too noticeable. I honestly cannot think of any complaints... I highly recommend this if for nothing else than it is not a fanny pack water holder!

5.0 out of 5 stars Camelbak Classic Hydration Pack, July 5, 2007
By
This item is exactly as advertised, light weight, easy to fill and use and easily cleaned especially if you purchase the optional cleaning kit. Even if you don't buy the cleaning kit, if you follow the cleaning instructions you can keep it fairly clean. I use it for yard work and outdoor sports and would recomend it to anyone looking for a inexpensive, yet durable hydration pack. It keeps the water cool for an extended period of time except for the water in the tube, which is no big deal

5.0 out of 5 stars Camelbak Saved My Life, July 17, 2008
I purchased the 2L Camelbak just before the 206 mile Seattle to Portland (STP) bicycle run. It was over 90 degrees F and there was no way I could have stayed hydrated using a conventional rack mounted bicycle water bottle. During a meal stop near Portland, OR the waitress filled it with ice water - SUPER!

1.0 out of 5 stars not enough water and not enough storage, July 17, 2007
By
This camelback doesnt hold enough to properly hydrate for an hour long ride. theres not enough storage to put a pump, keys, phone and id. the straps are way too big too, they flop around when you are riding unless you strapt the straps down. go with 3L or 100 oz. This thing really needs to be broken in to hold the 2L.
