5.0 out of 5 stars I LOVE THIS HYDRATION PACK
I've struggled to find a good solution for hydration - I run with my dog, and carrying enough water for both of us is a problem. Stashing water ahead of time is a pain. Dragging my husband out at oh-dark-thirty to drive around and deliver water is unfair. 3.0 out of 5 stars Good for running, not completely an Antidote reservoir
I bought this for my first 5K, which I completed this morning. It was perfect for holding my car key, my phone (running RunKeeper), and my essentials (I.D., insurance card) and the amount of water was enough to get me through the race and to make a quick shake in a separate shaker bottle when I finished.

It's important to be aware that while it says it is an...

5.0 out of 5 stars I LOVE THIS HYDRATION PACK, May 21, 2011

I've struggled to find a good solution for hydration - I run with my dog, and carrying enough water for both of us is a problem. Stashing water ahead of time is a pain. Dragging my husband out at oh-dark-thirty to drive around and deliver water is unfair. I've tried several solutions, but carrying bottles is hard to do in my hands and still handle the leash, and water belts slop around on my hips and drive me nuts. Hydration packs seemed like the obvious solution, but they're pricy and most are cut for men and just don't fit right.

This little pack, though, is Just Right! It's cut for a woman, so it's comfortable across the chest and sits right on my back. 50 oz is enough for 8-10 miles (depending on how hot it is), so enough for most runs - and at least when we run longer, husband only has to meet us once. The bladder has a large opening, so it's easy to fill and clean, and it's easy to get in and out of the pack. The vest isn't hot at all, especially if you toss the full bladder in the fridge overnight before the run. It's fitted enough to not move around, but doesn't rub or chafe. The first time I ran with it, the water sloshed a bit, but squeezing the air out after filling solved that problem too. I can easily drink out of the bite valve on the run, or pinch it with my fingers and squeeze the pack a bit to give the dog a drink - and there's a valve on the bite valve that guarantees no leaks between sips.

There are pricier packs out there, but this one does the job for me! Now I want this pack with built in LEDs front and back for running in the dark and it'll be the perfect solution!

5.0 out of 5 stars How to solve the water sloshing problem., July 23, 2011
I've had a few different camelbaks, and I especially like the newer ones designed for women. I am 5'1", so the regular sizes are much too large! I also find the sternum strap very useful so the shoulder straps don't slip.

After several years of using camelbaks, I've figured out how to solve the problem of water sloshing. After you fill the reservoir, make sure it's sealed tightly, then turn the whole thing upside down, so the place where the hose enters the reservoir is the highest point. Suck on the mouthpiece until you get all the air out of the hose and the reservoir. Let the mouthpiece close again so no air enters, then turn the pack right side up, and you should be ready to go with minimal sloshing.

Explanation: the water sloshes around if there is air in the reservoir. By turning it upside down, any air will go to the (now) top where the hose enters. By sucking out the air, you remove the empty space that the water has to move around. Now that there's no extra space, as you drink the water and don't let air enter (for example by biting the mouthpiece after you're done drinking and letting the water go back up into the pack or blowing air into it) then the pack will collapse as it empties, like a tube of toothpaste when you empty it by squeezing from the bottom.

I hope this helps! I also found the sloshing extremely noisy and annoying. Keep running!

This review is from: Camelbak Annadel 50 oz Hydration Pack (Sports)
I purchsed this item to use while biking and running. Its pretty good. Does exactly what it's supposed to - allows you to carry water. I do have a few minor gripes about the product. You can hear the water sloshing around as you drink. Not minor sloshing like you would expect but really loud - people passing by can hear loud. Also there is nothing to attach the mouth piece to when your not drinking. On the up side - the pockets are amazing!! I have enough room to take a few gels, a power bar, my keys and cell phone with me. And they're not cramped. All in all pretty decent product. I would prefer that the water did slosh around but for price and ease of use I'd buy again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for long runs on the trail, April 19, 2011

This review is from: Camelbak Annadel 50 oz Hydration Pack (Sports)
I love all of camelbak's products. This holds just enough water for a 4-5 mile run on the trail without being too heavy. The storage pockets are only big enough for keys, cell phone and maybe a very thin wallet or id. I've gotten a lot of compliments on the color from other women.

5.0 out of 5 stars Girlfriend loves it, uses it for running, December 1, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought this pack as a gift for my girlfriend, and she absolutely loves it. I have the guys version (Camelbak Fairfax 50 oz Hydration Pack), and I love it, too. The Annadel has slightly different geometry, made to fit women better. My girlfriend has a petite frame (though she is 5'7"), and she says it fits her body very well. The height of the chest strap is adjustable, so you can put it above or below your chest, and the pockets on this pack are spacious enough for a phone, keys, card, and a snack or two. The reservoir itself is very easy to fill, and a full pack is very light. My girlfriend says that after a minute she hardly notices that she's wearing the pack while she's running.

One quick note -- my girlfriend and I both run the tube through the small band across the top of the shoulder straps and push the valve up close to that band. Basically you get this loop of tube poking out of the top of your shoulder strap, but it keeps the tube from flopping around while you run. You look a bit weird, but it works.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for Biking!, August 29, 2011

I love taking this hydration pack with me when I go biking. The pockets store much more than I would have thought making it easy to pack a cell phone, granola/energy bars, keys and cash/credit cards without running out of space. I love how easy it is to remove the bladder--I like to refrigerate the pack the night before I go out so that my water stays colder longer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works great!, November 6, 2011
The camelbak works great and has a pocket to carry keys and other items. Plus with 40 oz of fuild it never feels heavy while biking. The only downer is that it's hard to get the straw to dry.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not good for petite frames, September 21, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
There were definite fitting problems with this hydration pack. I have been looking, like so many others, for something that can give me water but also be hands free and have room for my essentials. I am petite framed. It did not fit properly over my shoulders and chest. It bounced the whole run and the strap would not stay on one shoulder. The water reserve was in lock position but the water leaked anyway making my back wet. Finally, the water tasted like plastic and was undrinkable. This was a terrible buy and I am returning it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good for running, not completely an Antidote reservoir, September 11, 2011

It's important to be aware that while it says it is an Antidote reservoir, it only has some of the features. The quick release bite valve tube is NOT present, so if you buy/bought (like me) an insulated tube for an Antidote reservoir, you will not be able to use it because the connection is not Antidote, rather the older style (just super tight push-on). I was really looking forward to being able to use my insulated tube. Still, it's a nice little pack as long as you understand it's not exactly Antidote.

My daughter needed this for her JrROTC training in the very hot south Texas summer. It works great and is exactly as described.
