Okay, but still leaks if the contents are cold
on February 22, 2014
Standard Camelbak. Dishwasher safe, fits everywhere (cup holders, drink cozies, etc.), easy to keep clean.
However, it does leak if you put something colder than room temperature in it. It's got a nice one-way seal to let air in as you suck the liquid out, but it doesn't have anything to let the air out as it warms and expands inside the bottle. The end result of this is the warming air pushing your drink up the straw and out the mouthpiece with a slow, steady dripping. I prevent this from happening by unscrewing the top and squeezing the bite-valve open so that the water inside the straw falls back down to the level of the water in the bottle and isn't filling the straw to the top. By doing this, I have allowed some room for the expanding air to push water into the straw. It's a pain in the butt, but it's the only way I've found to keep this thing from leaking
