As a mom of two I have owned just about every variety and brand of sippy cup on the market and the one that has stuck around since my son was 15 months old is his camelbak. My daughter recently started to use sippy cups and she was obsessed with her brother's camelbak. We remove the straw because she prefers to tip it up to drink (and I also find it leaks not at all this way!) We got the 'Birds' design and it's absolutely darling. My son's that we have now owned for 2 years has held up great. The design on the outside has not worn off at all and it washes in the dishwasher great! The bit piece has held up well to both of their teething and chewing and shows no need for replacement anytime soon. While this was certainly a bit more of an investment I find that it grows with the child and gives a great water bottle for them well into childhood until the time they need an adult size Camelback! :) Can't beat that it's BPA free and is just so darn adorable!

We have been using the camelbak 4 liter bottle for our three year old daughter for about a year now and it has worked out well. The price was quite a bit more than other bottles, but I have found that those bottles are no longer around and the camelbak is going strong. I also like that the straws and bite valves can be replaced if needed, but we have not needed to yet. I am planning on buying more of these wonderful water bottles. The only time they leak is when we put cold water in them and as the water warms to room temperature the water is pushed out of the top of the straw, but this is physics and would happen with any straw watter bottle. We love this bottle and plan to use it for a long time.

I bought this for my daughter when she was about 18 months old since she kept using mine rather than her own sippy cups, and I prefer not to share so many germs. It's cute, and doesn't leak too much (though we have some sippy cups that leak less). She had trouble with the hinge at first, it was too hard for her, but it does say that it's for older kids, not toddlers.

However, there's no good way to clean the inside of the bite valve, and it seals on both ends so it can't dry inside. After a year, I discovered to my horror that hers was black inside with mold/mildew/whatever. I cleaned it out as well as I could with a tiny brush, splitting open part of the top in the process, but couldn't get it all out. I tried boiling the valve, but that didn't seem to help either. :(

I would consider buying replacement bite valves, but as far as I can see, they cost as much as the bottles themselves. So the whole bottle may be headed for the trash. I can't afford to buy new ones all the time so we'll be looking for something different.

This is the only cup my 15 month old can use with out serious spills (it can leak a bit when held upside down as any curious toddler would do, but not at all when tip is folded down). He has been using it since he was around 11 months and Mama loves it too! I have tried many other straw cups and they have all leaked or where way to hard to get anything out. We only put water in it, so don't have to clean out a lot, but cleaning is easy too, so far. Very happy with it!

Keeps getting moldy inside the blue top bite part and straw areas. I wash with a straw cleaner with warm soapy water and let dry over night, but keep growing mold! I have even bought the replacement straws 2 times, but still the mold is growing. I have only ever put water into the cup.

I like the Camelbak kids bottles. I actually like them more then the regular camelbak bottles because the lid comes apart so everything can be thoroughly cleaned. I got one with a new design on it but I have a few others that we've had for years. They hold up to everything my kids put them through. I've had to replace a few mouth pieces and straws through the years, easy enough to buy replacements here on Amazon, but everything else still works perfectly. The mouthpieces on these can leak and will need replaced if the child has chewed it, but for the younger stage before my kids were ready for a water bottle like this I used the Nalgene Tritan kids bottles that have a hard plastic part for them to drink from. The oldest 3 Camelbak kids bottles I have are a bit different in that the lid has a button the kids can push to release the mouthpiece, the newer ones don't, but I don't think that matters much. These are perfect size for kids to take to school and it's so easy for them to get a drink without it disrupting their work or lessons. Also perfect for sports practice, a trip to the park, short hike, being out while Mama runs errands, to take to bed as sit on a nightstand, and helps me keep an eye in how much they've had to drink. The oldest 3 bottles also started out being used by my oldest child and are now being used by my youngest, 4th child and were used by each kid in between. Overall, for the "kid" age group, these are the only water bottles I trust and have in my house. If there is a better option, I haven't found it yet.

Me and my wife both own and love a couple different camelbak bladders for hiking and camelbak water bottles for everyday use. So we thought this kids version had to be just as good. WRONG! We bought two of these and they both leak really bad and often leave little puddles around the house.
