I have been using the platypus system for awhile which is basically just the plastic bad inside the backpack. Though they are great for long backpacking trips, just short hikes makes them cumbersome. With this system, it works very well for the purpose that it is needed for. The mouth piece is fine, though the tube is the right size to buy different ones in case you don't like its size or shape. Very durable, considering I do a lot of rock scrambling/climbing, I have put this thing through a lot of abuse and it still works wonderfully.
Only thing to watch out for when you get it, make sure you wash out the plastic bag thoroughly, maybe even squeeze some lemon into it and wash it out. Definitely helps get the new plastic taste out of it. |
