Sorry I had to condense the file like 12 times to make it 100mb So it would fit on this review. That's why the vid quality is bright or whatever. I will make a better one and post on YouTube, I will post the Link in the comments later thanks anyways for watching.

Update: Alright here is the youtube video link.

I ride epic mountain bike tours, of over five hours duration on the trail. This means I need to be prepared for almost anything, and need to start early when it's cold. By noon, the temp really goes way up and I need to stow away the jacket in the pack. I also can hold food, energy snacks, spare tubes and my bike tools too. Holding 3L of water also means you can go the distance. The M.U.L.E expands like a Puffer Fish with stuff so amazingly well I cannot leave home without it, on long rides. It even works well on hikes too. It's a very well thought-out product, designed by bikers...for bikers. Everything cinches and straps down cleanly, so snagging bushes will not be of concern. It will survive crashes and still protect your backside. The durable Nalgene rubber bladder is the same material as a waterbed, so it will not burst on you suddenly. The handy water fill port can even accept small blocks of ice, for longer fluid cooling. I cannot find single fault of this great piece of outdoor technology.

Money well spent...

I bought this pack specifically for my Honeymoon at Disneyworld, but have owned other camelbak products that have served me well on the trail.

I bought the mule because its size and fluid capacity are perfect for spending a day wandering around a Disney theme park with my bride. It holds my camera in a lined pocket, my sunglasses and video camera in the front pocket, snacks, sunblock, cell phone, souvioneers, etc in the main compartment, and a stuffed mickey mouse fits nicely in the area meant for a bike helmet.

As for the trail, I always carry my camelbak because the quality is great and its very comfortable to wear. The materials used really stand up to the wear and tear of hiking, biking, and the occasional tumble.

The Mule is a great size for a few hours of outdoor activity, its not too large, but its large enough to hold the essentials (snacks, map, first aid kit, camera, light jacket, etc).

The Mule is a comfortable, durable, and worth every penny.

I am not a biker; I bought this pack for hydration on long distance walks.

I can not say enough good things about this pack. It has plenty of water capacity, it holds ample small gear (and I do mean ample, this thing's ability to store things is amazing) for a day hike/walk, and it's solidly built.

The thing that blows me away, though, it that when I fill it up with cold(ice) water, this thing keeps that water cold for what seems like a physically impossible amount of time. For instance: filled it up with ice and water at 12:00 noon on July 3rd, temperature hovering around 102. Walked and worked outside until 7:00PM. In that time, I managed to deplete the water reservoir almost entirely...but my last drink was very nearly as hurt-your-teeth cold as the first one was.

If you need hydration plus room for a few other items for a day out walking, running, biking, or whatever - you will never regret buying this Camelbak. There truly is no downside.

This is my first Camelbak product. So far it seems like a pretty solid and well thought out product. I haven't noticed any leaking around the fill cap ... the "quarter turn" feature seems to work fine! All the seams, zippers, straps etc. are tight and solid. It's not quite as huge as I thought it would be ... I don't know about carrying enough for an "epic" ride, but it does hold a whole bunch. I had my wallet, keys, cell phone, mini-pump, shock pump, mini u-lock and two small lights in there ... so, yeah, that's a lot of stuff. Buuuuuut if I wanted to throw in some foodstuffs and an extra layer or two, plus fill the reservoir to capacity, things would get VERY tight. Overall it's a great bag and it works well so far. I guess I was expecting it to be a little bigger based on the description and reviews ... my own fault for not going for a bigger bag. But it still holds more than enough, especially if you have proper gear that packs small and light.

Update : 5/29/12 Had the M.U.L.E. now for about three months and 175 offroad miles. I have yet to run out of space or water. (I do use this paired with a seat bag. Avenir Bigmouth Velcro Seat Bag (Large- 73/106 Cubic Inches)) It has yet to leak and no rips or tears even after several falls. My only comment ... I would say that the "air director" feature is pretty much useless for mountain biking ... maybe on the road with more constant airflow it would be better? I know my back is soaked under the pack when I ride!

A durable and well thought out bag that performs as it should. Plenty of room and water for 3-4 hours on the trails.

This is a must have for mountain bikers. This pack will carry everything you could ever want or need on the trail for really up to five hours.

I bought my Camelbak MULE on AMAZON a year ago, because I was in New Mexico for the summer and planned to do alot of hiking. I had already tried a friend's for a few hikes and was convinced of its usefulness. Since then, I have used my Camelbak many times, and I consider it one of my favorite possessions. The 100 oz. hydration pack is ideal for long day hikes, and I am very glad I didn't go with a smaller size. In addition, the MULE has enough volume to store other essentials for a day hike. I normally fit an extra layer of clothing, a lunch and snack, a pair of binoculars, and a few other small items inside, without impeding the volume of the hydration pack. I also use it for road biking, since I can fit my pump, spare tubes, tools, ect, as well as food and water.

For me, this pack is the perfect size, rides comfortably, and has been completely reliable. I have no regrets about buying my Camelbak MULE, and if I ever lost it I would definitely try to buy the same model.

I like this pack in a lot of ways, but have a couple of reservations.

Pro: Size is just perfect for one day outing with room to stash a few extra articles of clothing. Large reservoir holds all the water I need for hard workout on a hot day.

Cons: I am a large man with a broad back and shoulders, so the straps tend to cut in on me a bit. Also I like to run shirtless and this pack is a little too rough, the material rubs my back when I don't wear a short and creates sore spots. Also there is no ID or Smartphone pocket on the straps so anytime you want to access something in the pack you have to take it off to reach a pocket, as opposed to some packs that have a pocket on the strap on the front.

Despite my reservations I still think it's one of the best packs I've used and would recommend it.

This was my second Camelbak, the first being a much smaller, more generic one that provided some hydration, but this thing is more than adequate for hours of raging at festivals or hours of racing across the country by bike. No one can miss you with the Blue/White and the 100 oz. is more than enough for leisurely biking 40 - 50 miles or re-hydrating after raging face. The white gets dirty, but that just means you're getting use out of it....as for storage, well this thing has it. Has a place for your helmet or other large items with the adjustable straps as well as many zippered pockets for personal belongings as well as cycling tools or raging goodies. I utilize the chest and waste straps which can be adjusted to fit the small to the large person. The hydration reservoir can be difficult to get in after you fill it, but a little tricky maneuver here and there gets it back into place. I love it, and will probably stick to Camelbak.

I got the Citron/Navy pack. The picture is accurate, but the description is not. You will notice the design is a little different between the 2012 and 2013 by black trapezoid shape on the 2012 and the "Y" design on the 2013.

Don't get me wrong, this is a great pack at a great price, but never having owned one before, I thought all M.U.L.E packs had the helmet hooks. It does have a pocket to put your helmet in, but mine doesn't seem to fit too well. I'm not too sure how well it will stay in place when the bag is packed full of water and gear. I'm nitpicking on an otherwise great product and it is definitely not indicative of the overall quality of the bag.

Another small gripe I have is that the pack isn't yellow like the pic. I was hoping for a hi-viz look, but it's more like pea soup. It's not bad, just different. I tried taking a pic of it with my camera but it never accurately captured the color. I found a video review of it that shows the correct color.

[...]

I just wanted to point that out these 2 things to other people who might think that they are getting the newest (2013) model.

The pack itself is really well made. There is a lot of space for whatever you need and it holds a ton of water (3L). What else can you ask for on a Florida trail ride?
