I have two camelbacks that I was issued. This model has lasted 6+ years and is still in good shape. They have lasted through 2 deploymenets to the Middle East AND numerous field/training exercises. It's been in the snow for days in upstate NY, and in 125 degree heat. It works great. It has NO pockets though, so when I'm out walking for long distances I have to carry something else. Going for a short walk in which you don't need much it works fine. There are other models that carry more water, but this one you could run with.
Cleaning is easy, though bladders have to dry out themselves. New parts are easily found and easy to replace.
I haven't done this but don't put anything but water in these. The sugar/other things in other drinks can break down/degrade the bladder. I would suggest a hose cover or Temperature Control Kit. It's simply a cover for the hose to keep the water form becoming too hot or cold. Definately a worthwhile purchase.
