I am a cyclist and, yes, I absolutely 100% agree with everyone here who has stated that this bottle is PERFECT for Cycling and Mountain Biking. The bottle fits great with the various bottle cages I’ve used on my bikes and on bikes I’ve rented. NO ISSUES with bottle cage fitment.

A nice accessory for mountain bikers is the CamelBak Mud Cap designed for this bottle. It keeps dirt out of the valve!

Where we’ve had more fun with the Podium Chill bottles is out on the boat. The Spill-Proof Jet-Valve works AWESOME when not in the Locked feature, which is a brilliant idea…Thanks CamelBak!

Because we don’t have to worry about spilling, we fill these up completely with as much ice as we can fit into the bottles, then add our fun river / lake beverages.

We fill up as many bottles as we can take, usually three per person, so we can save more room for ice and food in the coolers. It gets up to 114 degrees out on the Mojave River and these bottles keep our drinks cool, even when floating with us in the water.

These bottles are amazing and can definitely be used in other ways besides just cycling!

PROS:
- They Float on the water
- Lockout Feature to prevent spilling
- Spill-Free even when unlocked
- Keeps drink cool for 1-2 hours in 114 degree weather
- Fits almost any Bottle Cage
- Durable if dropped (over and over again)
- Jet-Valve delivers just the right amount of fluid

CONS:
- Make sure to keep valve open / unlocked if washing in Dish Washing Machine
- Jet-Valve takes some effort to clean
- May need Q-Tips if you want to prevent mold from building up in Jet-Valve

At the end of the day, the Podium Chill Bottle is an awesome product for any athlete or party-goer!!

-J

I was looking to replace my daily stainless steel straw work bottle for two reasons - I was getting a metallic taste in the water and the 20 oz. un-insulated bottle would get to room temperature within an hour.

I looked at multiple plastic/polypropylene bottles and the Big Chill won because of its self-sealing jet valve, ~3" thin diameter, excellent grip design, innovative dial-lock, squeezability and good volume throughput. Also, the bottle does not leak in-spite of it not having a silicon/rubber gasket inside the cap.

Water from the bottle does not taste plasticky as long as you take the time to wash the bottle well. I add 5-6 drops of dish washing liquid soap, add hot water shake the bottle and squeeze the liquid/foam out through the valve. I repeat the process 2-3 more times, with hot water, till clear water flows out. Squeezing the water out through the valve is the key to removing the plasticky taste.

The bottle is triple layered - An inside bottle (silver-gray) color, a middle polypropylene jacket (imparts outer color) and an outer clear plastic layer. The outer plastic layer reduces the shine of the polypropylene jacket and makes the bottle look a little dull.

To drink water, you lift the bottle above you and either suck on the valve or squeeze the bottle. The large valve opening (0.5 inch) pushes significant volume of water with every squeeze. The valve is self-sealing and water will not drip if you leave it unlocked and turn the bottle over. I also love the grip design - it is positioned very well on the bottle and you can squeeze the bottle without changing your holding grip. This is very helpful as I am constantly moving around my corporate campus with my laptop in the other hand.

It's perfect. I have a big chill 21 oz in the downtube bottle holder and a 24 oz on the seat tube. That gets me through 50 miles of California sun. This is the best there is. You can lock the spout so it doesn't drip when the bike is stored sideways in the back of my car, and then open it for effortless but drip-free hydration during the ride. Somebody who actually rides a bike designed this one.

I already have two Camelbak 70oz Rogue hydration pack for the wife and I. Sometimes it is too much firepower for an hour ride for exercise and it can be a pain to clean. The 25 oz and 21 oz are the perfect size to keep us hydrated in the 95-100 degree heat in the southwest. I usually fill the bottle with ice/water before the ride. The ice is almost melted and the water is still cool by the time I need to hydrate 30-60 minutes later. My old water bottle would already be same outdoor temps by this time. Hard to cool your core if you drinking hot water.

I like the power squirt feature to quickly fill you mouth to rinse/spit or drink. Easy to squirt over your head on those really hot days. The softer sides make it easy to control the amount of water you squirt into your mouth. No more biting the top to open/close the water valve like my old bottle with the Camelbak nozzle. I haven't had any issues with the top spilling when unlocked during the ride. The bottles fit in our cheap $3 bike bottle holders very well with zero chance of bouncing out. I haven't had any issues with plastic taste with this bottle. Since it holds ice a lot longer, no need to freeze 1/2 full of water the night before. Not planning on using this bottle for anything other than water to keep it fresh as possible for the long term.
