Bought this for long mountain rides, over 3 hours in the dessert, and this just hit the spot, I usually ride with my girlfriend, thus I normally carry my and her stuff, and the bag can pack it all, extra jacket, food, spares, tools, pump, 3L of water, car keys, random stuff, everything times 2, and although the bag does get heavy with all that stuff, it doesn't really feel that heavy, the NV panels in the back really distribute the weight through your back, making it a comfortable all day long fit, plus, said panels get a lot of ventilation, so my back is never soaking in sweat. The only down side I’ve found is that the little sweat that reaches for the NV panels, stays there, and they end up smelling like that humid cloth you forgot in the sink and now stinks, but it's not really that big of a bummer. Other than that I'm really happy with the bag and would totally recommend it to anyone doing 3 hour+ rides.

I was looking for a good hydration pack!

Ordered this one outside amazon as got a better deal and when I got it its just too cool!

Perfect rating from me, rarely you find a bag thats well thought in every way for a particular activity.

Pros:
Not very heavy
Lots of pockects for phone, ipode, laptop or whatever gear you want to take with you
Has a helmet hook
Large hydration bladder
Soft small pocket for valueables
Integrated cover in the lower pocket for weather protection.(very thoughtful)
Value for money
Well built
Key clip etc etc

Cons
Could be lighter and thats it!!!
Havent tested its durability yet

I think its the right size even for air travel if you want to use for that purpose.

I recommend it to anyone who loves outdoors and to freak out someone if you give it away as a gift, you will most likely be loved forever! :)

Hope this helped

Gave this as a gift and both he and I absolutely love it. I'm actually going to get myself one! So many compartments that would come in handy and at the bottom it even has a waterproof cover that comes can be unzipped to cover the backpack! The size was perfect. Exactly what I wanted and more. Thank you

I bought this hydration backpack (the H.A.W.G. NV model) because I needed something that would keep me hydrated on a 12-hour 16-mile hike with a 4800-foot elevation change. I knew that I needed at least 3 liters of water, which it provides with the 100 oz reservoir. I was able to fit an extra 1.5L bottle of water, as well as a 0.6L bottle of Gatorade. I also packed a first aid kit, a windbreaker, a small towel, my wallet, keys, and phone, bug spray, a flashlight, plenty of snack bars, and an extra battery pack for my phone. All of these fit no problem with some room to spare. I was also able to attach a DSLR holster to the outside of the pack for the final ascent up the Half Dome cables. The backpack was comfortable to wear the whole time. The ventilation system really helped keep my back free of sweat. I am looking forward to many more hikes with this pack. Also, I would like to point out that while many say that the new Camelbak reservoirs leak, mine passed the leak test just fine. None of my items were wet at the end of the hike.

While attractive, lightweight, and large capacity water carrier--not to mention awesome amount of storage it has one problem I cannot overcome. It does not matter if temps are warm (or hot) & I'm wearing just a t-shirt OR very cold and I'm dressed w/ many layers + jacket, gloves, hat, etc.....after about 2 miles my back is soaking wet. It can't be from sweat--my other backpacks don't cause this. It can't be from interior sweating from the inside out--my other backpacks don't cause this. Ergo, a 5-star rating MUST BE REDUCED to 4 stars, perhaps less. I cannot identify WHAT causes this problem. It is irritating to say the least. So, that's my ONLY warning to others. IF it doesn't make your back wet--congratulations. Also, in case you're thinking I'm overweight--I'm not. I'm 6' 2'' tall and 175 lbs. So, that's my story. Hope yours is better.

Best Pack you will find for cycling, commuting and hiking at the same time.

This is so versatile and well designed pack that I have to come here and let people know that it is the best pack I have ever owned.

I have had Oggios, Osprey and others brands in the past but this one is unbeatable.

I am coming from Osprey Escapist 20L which let me down so many times due to lack of space and this one here although smaller on the outside can fit almost the double of the stuff inside and is much more versatile and functional in every single way

I bought the Camelbak HAWG after researching for a spacious yet compact hydration pack and this is the one for you if you are a commuter / cyclist, eventually hiking like me.

The Camelback HAWG is supposedly a 14L (a bit larger than the MULE) but it can fit a tone of stuff compared to the Osprey, it is designed for cyclist/commuter with a very effective back ventilation system NV which is just awesome, pockets everywhere, high quality materials and impressively small dimensions. I could carry to work one laptop 14", trouser, shirt, tools, tubes, air pump, one full size book 1" thick, lots of papers and docs from office, another half size book, one Ipad, gloves, locker for the bike, snack bars, necessaire, keys, Garmin Edge and other minor things with still some space left, unbelievable. All pockets are easy to access and the pack still looks small. Not to mention the big front expandable pocket which you can fit a pair of shoes comfortably or a helmet and then adjust the compression side straps, comes with a high quality 3L hydration pack and the price is just right compared to Osprey packs. Packs are very personal stuff and kind of love it or hate it thing but you can't go wrong with this if the main purpose is for day biking and hiking. For overnight or longer trips I still use a Osprey Manta 28 or a Mountain Gear 45 which are much more hiking packs anyway.
