The final curtain,
By Dr Nick "Dr Nick" (Sheffield, S Yorks United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Camelot In Smithereens (Audio CD)
After over 10 years of rocking, Deliverance bowed out with this album. Starting out as a Thrash/speed metal band, they evolved into a pretty good prog. rock unit. This album maintains their usual standards. The vocals remind of Queensryche, the production is good, and the ever-changing guitarist holds his own. And the underlying Christian message is always evident.A good album for the discerning Christian rocker.

Not Bad,
This review is from: Camelot In Smithereens (Audio CD)
Camelot isn't a bad album, but I expected more from Deliverance. Unlike Stay of Execution there isn't even 1 song you can't not have. Overall not nearly as strong as Learn, which is probably the closest style wise. Not great but if you're a big Deliverance fan it's worth getting if the price is right.

Not their last,

Just thought I would add that this was not the final cd from Deliverance... in 2001 they released "Assimilation" which strays even farther from their speed metal roots, adding in electronica. Anyway, this cd isn't bad, it was not recieved well when it was released but if you like their other goth/nu metal cds such as Learn and River Disturbance (really an underrated cd), then this is in a similar vein. Still, I'd suggest picking up all of their older stuff first.
