This is a little bit chick lit, a little bit fantasy, a little bit midlife crisis with a sprinkling of history thrown in. Casey is an appealing heroine and I hope we see more of her in the future!

A little bit time travel, a little bit romance, and lots of action. Camelot & Vine is the perfect book to cuddle up with when you need a break from the twenty-first century. Loved it!

Delightful, surprisingly intense, and very nearly believable. I really liked the fact that I didn't know what was coming next, or more precisely how it was coming. Excellent work Ms. Burchard!

From the moment I picked up Camelot and Vine, I fell in love with it!!! The story is an engaging twist to the King Arthur legend and Camelot. Casey is a delightful character who I could relate to from the beginning and through all of her ordeals...Definitely a good read!!!

Although the cover led me to think this was going to be a light-hearted romantic comedy time travel, it was surprisingly deeper. There is a romantic element but it is not the center of the story. It was well written, well researched (this isn't a time period I enjoy reading about but the historical details were intriguing), and had a satisfying ending. The latter is often difficult to find in time travel but this ending worked very well I thought. I'll be watching for Petrea Burchard to (hopefully) release another book in this vein. I'd buy it without hesitation and recommend this one to anyone who enjoys time travel.

Ms Burchard takes us on a journey into the legend of King Arthur that brings the characters to life in an inventive way that's thoroughly entertaining and involving from the moment you start reading. Intelligent, witty and warm, human writing at its best. I hope they make a movie from it!

History, mystery and romance with an exciting ending made this a great read. Brings King Arthur's court, Lancelot and Guinivere to life like never before.

This book was recommended to me by a friend. I felt obligated, but I do trust this friend's opinion so I read it a bit later than I normally would if I were picking the book. Also, I don't much like time travel, but this is where my friend's opinion came in handy. It is romantic, intelligent and self aware. A page turner. Smart! A must read.
We all need to be touched emotionally. Isn't that why we read????

Bye for now!

More About the Author

Petrea Burchard started as an actor. Then she wrote about it.

She began her acting career in Chicago at The Second City, Steppenwolf and Victory Gardens Theaters, continuing on to Los Angeles to work in television, film, and voice-over. Auditions, jobs and the people she met (famous and infamous) became fodder for her popular "Act As If" humor column at NowCasting.com, now available in paperback and ebook on Amazon.

Petrea also drew on her acting experience to write her first novel, "Camelot & Vine." During a summer Shakespeare course at Oxford, she fell in love with the English countryside and the idea began to take shape. Petrea wrote the book she wanted to read: a time-slip adventure with a woman as the star.

Other published works include a short story, "Portraits," in a new anthology from Prospect Park Media called "Literary Pasadena: The Fiction Edition," articles for Patch online newspapers, flash fiction like "Belinda's Birthday," and an essay in "A Cup of Comfort for Christmas," an Adams Media paperback.

Petrea writes mostly full-time now and does some copyediting and proofreading on the side. She continues to work as a voice actor as well. She's known as the original English voice of Ryoko, the sexy space pirate in the animé classic, "Tenchi Muyo!" She is currently the radio and TV voice of Stater Brothers Markets in southern California.
