This travel mug was exactly what I was looking for. Its a good size, very usable and dishwasher safe. I got it for my mom, who's a canon camera guru and she thought, while she was opening it, that she was getting a new lens. Only when she took it out of the bag did she realize that I had gotten her a mug. She loves it though, and I can highly recommend this mug.

I read the reviews of thes mug before I ordered it. Some reviewers said that the mug was labeled "Caniam" some said it was labeled "Canon" some said the the buttons moved, some said they didn't. Some said they liked the product, some tought it was junk.

It appears that there may be more than one version of this mug - perhaps sourced by the seller from different vendors. I thought that paying the higher price of $18.00 meant i would be getting the more realistic version of the replica. It did not. Apparently, it is just luck of the draw which version you get. Mine was labeled "Caniam" the buttons were just molded on the side (did not move) and overall looked like a cheap plastic novelty, not a particularly realistic replica.

This is not advertized as a travel mug and you should not expect it to be one. The lid screws on and must be removed completely to drink from the mug. I did not check it for leaks since I intended to send it back - which I did.

Looks great! It has the Canon Logo which was important to me since my dad is a big Canon fan. I just wish it would have an additional cap so that you could use it as a travel mug but other than that it looks great.

I love this product!! It is a great and functional cup plus it is one of the best for the length of time it keeps your hot drink hot! Love the fact that the buttons on the outside move, nice touch. Also one of the few that don't leak! This is a definite must for anyone who is a Canon fan.

This is a GREAT gift idea for your photo-savvy friends and/or family members! I got this for my girlfriend, who is a photographer, and she absolutely loves it! She purchased another one like this that was also a Canon mug and she loves this so much more! It's great since it comes with a lid that seals tightly so that you can take it with you on the go, at the office, or for just at home! It's a nice size and very sound. No leaks or anything! She wanted this one for a while since she is a Canon enthusiast and it really does look like the real thing! The buttons move, it has a nice weight to it, and most importantly, it says CANON and not caniam or anything else like some others may be advertised. This product is actually made by Canon, if I am not mistaken, so this is probably the best one on the market. Last time I checked, it was only available in Canada or at your local camera shops, so this is definitely a must! It comes with a nice bag with a removable, adjustable strap so you can carry your mug on the go. Only downside is the packaging it comes in. It just comes in a bag with very little bubble wrap, so the box was a little dented on the sides, but it's no big deal. Great product. Also, I ordered this the day after it said it wasn't eligible for amazon prime and it said it wouldn't arrive until at least the 3 Jan 2012, and I received it on Christmas eve. So its great and the company is pretty great too!

AESTHETIC RATING:
This is a very authentic looking Canon Canteen (plastic Canon lens replica of Ef 70-200 F2.8 housing, with light weight aluminum interior). The switch buttons on the exterior housing moves up and down like it would on the actual lens. It looks and feels solid. You cannot turn the lens and have it zoom in obviously, but it looks convincing enough. It comes with the Canon carrying bag as pictured and arrives in the authentic Canon coffee lens box. THIS IS A REAL PRODUCT, NOT A KNOCK OFF, these novelty items tend to be.

FUNCTIONALITY RATING:
This canteen looks great and does contain my hot coffee without burning my fingers off. The plastic exterior prevents it from getting too hot to hold, while the aluminum canteen (when closed with the cap to prevent heat loss) keeps the liquid hot (or cold) as you like. I timed my coffee and I got a solid 1.5 hours of hot to warm coffee before it got a bit luke warm. By around 2 hours it was luke warm, but a huge improvement over standard ceramic mugs, glass, or regular paper coffee cup. The cap to close the lid however is a nightmare. This is where this canteen fails. It LOOKS and feels solid, but the waxed covering inside of the interior side of the cap doesn't completely seal off the rim on the aluminum canteen thus causing it to leak like a machine. Don't even think about walking with this tilting over at 15 degree angle if you coffee is topped off. It will leak. Walk, and it will leak. If you lay it on a smooth, leveled surface, you'll be alright. Prepare to have plenty of napkins and wipes handy if you brave it out like me.

HOW IT COULD WORK BETTER:
Go to you local hardware store and look for a food-grade plastic sealant that you can custom cut and super-glue to the interior of the cap to make a better seal that will close the canteen better. It will help with the leak a lot, or completely prevent it from leaking. Otherwise, this would be ideal for someone who is looking to have a good canteen that will keep their coffee hot during a long night shoot session where you will be standing still doing long exposure shots (like star trails or time lapse, etc).

I actually bought this mug as a sort of gag gift because I figured with what it was going to cost it was going to be cheaply made. I was extremely surprised when I received it and saw how nice it really was. I wish I had ordered two of them!!

I bought the mug as a birthday present for my sister who is a photographer. She loved the concept and showed it off enthusiastically to her friends at work that Monday. Then, after putting hot coffee in the mug, which is the intended purpose, the inside metal part of the mug detached from the outer "camera lens" shell. The mug was broken after one use! What a shame. Don't waste your money on this product, even though it looks intriguing.

I ordered this over 3 months ago and I have YET to receive it. I was hoping to give it as a gift, but since the birthday has already passed that clearly won't happen. And i have asked for a refund and have not even been acknowledged/ NOT PLEASED AT ALL.

Looks great, it does leak, but the worst thing is the smell. The plastic smells like it has toxic oil residue. Have washed with soap and water and no effect. If you know how to clean this to get rid of odor, please let me know.
