Very nice reference work. Organized chronologically, there are excellent examples from all the major periods up to the late 19th century. Examples incude detailed descriptions of important horological features, biographical details of the maker and excellent photography. The book has both a nice glossary and a good index. This is a fun book just to browse, but also an essential comparative reference.
