Aspiring and proficient water skiers will find a wealth of practical how-to information in this work by Duvall, a five-time World Professional Slalom Champion. With concise, readable instructions she handily takes the absolute novice through the nuts-and-bolts of water skiing basics, as well as giving the more experienced practitioner tips for improvement and fine-tuning. Nothing is left to chance, with chapters on "Essential Equipment," "Boats and Drivers," and even "Installing Your Own Slalom Course." Naturally, water skiing cannot be learned from a book, no matter how well written. However, Duvall provides an accessible work on what is in store and, for those who've already started, how to make it easier and more enjoyable. A handy glossary defines and references common water skiing terms and acronyms. A good purchase for resort area public libraries. Illustrations not seen.

Excellent book! Read all her cues/instructions and you will succeed. I've never did a beach start, and after reading how to do it, and did exactly as she instructed, I got right up on the one ski from the beach. Awesome book!

This is a good basic water ski book. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is that some of the information is dated(But not much). I run a camp water ski program and this is a great book for the price!
