5.0 out of 5 stars One of His Finest December 1, 2007
Format:Audio CD
This is a fantastic album that takes a bunch of Brazilian bossanova and samba standards and with the use of the Hammond B-3 organ, gives them a new and exciting twist. The lineup is the classic trio: Goldings, Stewart, and Bernstein. I lost the insert to my copy, but I think that Joshua Redman plays sax and there's also a Brazilian percussionist. This is probably my favorite Goldings album and I have most of them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bossa organ date February 7, 2006
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
With the Walther Wanderley bossa nova organ records from the 60's in mind (uff), this excellent CD from Larry Goldings take the "latin B3" to the next level with no comparison to Wanderley. Goldings plays the organ in a laid-back Jimmy Smith style and that suits this excellent trio with Bernstein (guitar), Stewart (drums) and guest Joshua Redman (tenor on a few tracks). Musically this CD is not challenging for the listener, it's just very well played memorable bossa tunes from Jobim and Gilberto among others, in a laid-back mood. The only drawback for Goldings fans is that this CD is currently out-of-print.

4.0 out of 5 stars Smooth and satisfying April 16, 2014
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
It is what it is: a whole lot of samba with a bit of swing.
As one has come to expect, Goldings, Bernstein and Stewart invent and interact effortlessly.
Added bonuses are the tasteful and sympatico percussion of Guilherme Franco and masterfully lyrical tenor sax of Joshua Redman.
Melody is king and this is highly enjoyable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb recording of Bossa & Jazz December 16, 2013
Format:Audio CD
Excellent, beautiful, soulful set of Bossa & Jazz. Joshua Redman on sax on a couple of cuts, such as "Where or When", along with percussionists, Larry, Bill & Peter. I have several hundred Bossa-type recordings, including all the greats, and this disc contains the best version of "Caminhos Cruzados" I have ever heard, and one of the best "Once I Loved" - been listening to it for over a decade and never tire of it.
