5.0 out of 5 stars Camino de Santiago Maps
This is a very handy and useful little booklet. For my three-week Camino experience I kept the booklet readily accessible in my outside pants pocket. I repeatedly referenced the booklet throughout the day. It's narrow size and the ability to bookmark the page with the flaps on the front and back covers made it easy to retrieve and reference using only one hand. The...

1.0 out of 5 stars Too Large - Should Be Pocket Sized
The size of this makes it extremely inconvenient and not easy to use while walking the Camino. As it is too large to fit into one's pocket, it must be carried in the backpack. This means having to take the backpack off to retrieve the guide whenever one wants to refer to the maps.

The publisher should issue separate guides for separate languages, thus...

The day-at-a-glance layout, with distance intervals and albergue locations clearly marked plus a profile illustration displaying the changes in altitude along the route make this a very useful reference source. As titled this is a book of maps, there is very little narrative dedicated to recommended sights to see along the way.

5.0 out of 5 stars Camino de Santiago Maps, June 17, 2008

We just traveled from Roncesvillas to Santiago by bicycle. This was an excellent set of maps that we consulted each day to plan and during the day to be sure that we were on the correct route. I only regret that I did not get the guide books that accompany the maps.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very useful., April 11, 2009
This review is from: Camino de Santiago Maps / Mapas / Cartes: St. Jean Pied de Port/Roncesvalles - Finisterre via Santiago de Compostela (Camino Guides) (Paperback)
This book is small and light enough to fit in my backpack and provides individual colored-coded maps of each day's hike on the Camino Frances. Each map is accompanied by an elevation graphic for the day's hike. In addition, copious information is included about the terrain and populated areas through which the Camino passes. I expect to use this every day on my hike.

This is a very good book and a great buy. I bought this book in order to prepare myself for walking the Camino de Santiago next summer. In reading the book I already feel like in some strange way I have walked the Camino!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Too Large - Should Be Pocket Sized, April 27, 2010

The size of this makes it extremely inconvenient and not easy to use while walking the Camino. As it is too large to fit into one's pocket, it must be carried in the backpack. This means having to take the backpack off to retrieve the guide whenever one wants to refer to the maps.

The publisher should issue separate guides for separate languages, thus making each more compact instead of economizing by putting three languages into one guide. Alternatively this author's Camino Map Guide and other Camino travel guide could be combined into one book. The cost of two separate guides is not justifiable.

Find a better more convenient guide. There are alternatives.

The first review of the guide looks excellent and exactly what i was looking for. This is my first trip to Santiago de Compostella and i wanted a guide of the path i will follow. it looks quite detailed but to the point and cery nicely presented in a graphical manner. also the size of the book is very convenient to carry it with me. the availability of the text in 3 languages makes it useless for me. i would prefer more information or smaller size. i will come back after i do my trip 3-8 of may to reassess the practicality and usefulness of the guide.
