4.0 out of 5 stars 'Been looking for this one for two decades, October 21, 2004
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
For some odd reason, I missed purchasing this album upon its initial release in '84. I am more of an occasional Stewart fan and when one of his songs grabs my attention, it really grabs my attention.

Such was the case with "Infatuation." Yes, it was overproduced and Stewart's voice was drowned out in segments by some of the instrumentation. But, man, it makes me get up and move!!! The same thing happens when I hear "Some Guys Have All the Luck," "Bad for You," and the title cut. The rest of the disc is pure 80's and that, for me, is worth the purchase.

While Rod is garnering commercial success with his trio of standards (of which I have the first one), I still think Stewart the Rocker is, by far, his best incarnation.

And "Camouflage" satisfies my musical appetite most grandly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rod Rocks, August 6, 2007
By K-VICH (Kentucky, USA) - See all my reviews
Certainly not his best album, but even more so, far from the worst. Rod has some great tracks on this disc. "Infatuation" is a great, upbeat rocker, his version of "All Right Now" is faster than the original and in my opinion far better, "Some Guys Have All The Luck" is a chart topper, "Can We Still Be Friends" has great vocals and a more electronic feel, "Bad For You" is a good driving song if nothing else, "Heart Is On The Line" is a lot like "Some Guys Have All The Luck" so its good, "Camouflage" is probably the worst song on the disc and you'll definately skip it as soon as you hear them start spelling (C-A-M-O...), and finally "Trouble" is a calming song to close out the album with good vocals by Rod. Seem a little critical? Well maybe so, but every Rod fan should have a copy of this one because if nothing else it's fun to listen to and takes everyone back to the days of Rockin' Rod.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lost and Found, January 17, 2007

I must comment that when this was first ordered, we had it delivered to a P O Box, but to no avail. Apparently someone there either stole it, or delivered it to the wrong P O Box, but Amazon was quite nice to us, and sent aonther copy free of charge to our residence.

2.0 out of 5 stars Two Moments Surrounded By Mediocrity
Camouflage is not one of Rod Stewart's better recordings. He strays far away from his rock n roll roots and mines the disco beats and synthesizers to the hill. Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars Over produced [album]
Rod's worst album. His cover of Free's All Right Now is horrendous and the title track is his worst self-penned tune.
