Great Oven, great for emergency situations or loss of power!,

This new oven is so slick and has so many uses. I have only run it on the disposable propane bottles, but it can be run off a bulk tank.
I was really impressed with how good it would hold the heat and how it is almost silent. We were running it for a few minutes and I thought it wasn't hot yet and I looked at the temp gauge and it said 370 degrees. the burners on top are much better than the standard double burners, they are 5300 BTU and Brass to resist rusting. I think the insulation must be really good since it holds the heat great. The disposable bottle will last about 6 hours on high for the oven, since you are not always using High, it can last much longer. Review out of 5 stars EASE OF USE 5 stars QUALITY 5 stars Value 5 stars Pro lots of uses, easy to use disposable bottle auto light feature much bigger inside than it looks Cons handles on side don't go in very far doesn't come with bulk tank adapter temp gauge could get in the way I just added some photos, this stove can hold 350 while ice fishing! Check out the photos.

Camp Chef HRL replacement hose and regulator won't work with this stove,

The Camp Chef 2-burner Stove and Oven (in a single unit) appears to be very well made (I bought one in my Amazon order but haven't used it yet per the following) and this is not a review of the stove itself. Amazon currently shows it as frequently bought with the "Camp Chef HRL replacement hose and regulator, 1 PSI". The picture of the latter item leads one to believe that it functions as a hose adaptor for a common bulk tank of propane (which come in varying sizes). Unfortunately this hose is not made for this model Camp Chef stove. The stove-end will not fit the fitting on the stove nor is a regulator required on the other end since the stove comes with one (known only when one opens the box). I'm returning the hose and I should say that Amazon's return procedures are quite streamlined.
The regulator that comes with the stove screws onto a stove-fitting through a hole in the back of the stove, and a small one-pound bottle of propane screws into the other side of the regulator. The correct bulk tank hose adaptor made by Camp Chef is called "Disposable Bottle Regulator Bulk Tank Hose Adapter" (Camp Chef's item number is HRDSP) and the stove-end screws into the stove's regulator in place of the one-pound bottle. Of course there is no regulator on the bulk-propane-tank-end of the hose and that end just screws directly onto the bulk propane tank. As of this writing, Amazon does not sell this hose. One can only speculate as to why the manufacturer didn't include one with the stove. It would have been much more convenient since I suspect the overwhelming majority of users do not restrict themselves to the one-pound bottles (recognized by the manufacturer since the box has printed on it that a 20 lb tank lasts 50 hours and the 1 lb bottle lasts 7 hours, along with a picture of the correct adapter hose). Also, the indented hand-holds shown on the sides of the stove in the photo that is currently on Amazon's site are no longer on the stove as presently manufactured. The stove is portable, but not light and there is no convenient way to pick it up and carry it. I would suggest springing for the carry case (sold by Amazon) if you plan on carrying it a lot. The stove weighs 35 pounds and is approximately 21"wide, 12"deep and 17.5"high. Further, it's difficult to tell from the current photo, but the parts of the stove that look white are stainless steel. The burners are brass.

Love the oven and the burners. Excellent space between burners and using oven outside keeps heat load down inside trailer. Glad we found this product.
Knobs get very hot as does handle for oven, so please use with care. I would have loved to have the tank adapter as part of the original product.

I bought this oven and it is great for emergency preparations and especially camping. I just finished testing this oven with making a Hungry Man Fried Chicken TV dinner and it turned out just great. Keep in mind since this oven does not have a temperature regulation system like your kitchen oven, I had to manually regulate the temperature by cracking open the oven door to regulate the temperature (oven door has two positions, crack open position (15 degrees open) and full open (90 degrees open)) to cook aforementioned TV dinner at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes. This is because even on low position, the oven goes way over 400 degrees plus, and at the high position my oven achieved 575 degrees plus w/ oven connected to a 1 lb disposable propane cylinder before I shut it down (temp gauge goes to 600 degrees F). My oven has real handles not the previous handles that were indented hand-hold handles like pictured here on amazon, however, I bought mine at Costco at a significant savings from here so these must be older models Costco got on a deal or Costco had them especially made for them. Also on the oven itself it says to keep oven 10 feet away from propane cylinders so if you want an adapter to use a 20 lb cylinder for this oven, do not get the recommended Camp Chef's 5 foot Disposable Bottle Regulator Bulk Tank Hose Adapter HRDSP, but get the 10 foot long Stansport Propane Appliance to Bulk Tank Hose for only $24 bucks which is cheaper than the recommended 5 foot Camp Chef's HRDSP one aforementioned. This 10 foot Stansport hose works great with this oven and is the required minimum length to keep oven at a safe distance (per the side of the oven) and I can also use it for my Coleman PerfectFlow Insta Start Propane Grill. This is a welcome addition to my Emergency Supplies and is a good investment too as these are already going up in price.

We purchased the Camp Chef Oven to use on our recent trip to Big Bend National Park and to an RV Park in the mountains near Cloudcroft New Mexico. We were very satisfied with everything about the oven. It was easy to pack, to set up, and to cook on. We had some delicious brownies, cornbread, and biscuits all cooked in the oven.

In the early 90's I did a job in Puerto Rico. I was there after a hurricane and noticed a lot of people had something similar. There was a similar item in a store that sold appliances, it looked like it was brown porcelain rather than stainless. For years I kicked myself for not buying it. I did not know what to search for on the internet but kept trying anyway. I even tried to call a place in PR and try to describe what I wanted, but I did not speak Spanish. I visited Dallas and stopped by the Bass Pro shop around 2004 or so, and they had a model, similar to this one from Outback?, for almost $240! It was a little pricy compared to the one in PR for $60 that I could not get. They were called 'camp ovens'. I found this exact model on [...] for $[...] in 2007 and bought it. We have cooked brownies, biscuits, red beans and rice, macaroni & cheese, cornbread, eggs, sausage, etc. This camp stove cooks! We have used it at 40 deg F thru 90 degs F, without a problem. We have used it with the 1 pounders and the 20lb bbq tank. I want to try a turkey breast sometime, so I can say I even cooked a Thanksgiving dinner with. The finish has help up and its look as good as the day we bought it.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE MY CAMPING OVEN!!! I love cooking, and I love camping - this camping oven was a match made in heaven for me. I have used this to make so many wonderful meals while camping, and people are so happily surprised when I'm able to make them food like pizzas, breads, and muffins while we're camping. I've gotten so many compliments on it.
A few things to be aware of: 1. You cannot set an exact oven temperature. There is a range between high and low, and the oven comes with a thermometer. You will want to keep your eye on that, and keep checking it while you are cooking - the temperature might go up and down. 2. The oven is a little low to the ground. I am still hunting around for the perfect little table to set it on to bring it to the right height. (Please comment if you have found one!) 3. Regular size pans and baking sheets will not fit in this. The first few times I used this, I had to cook things like pizza on a sheet of tin foil - which can be tricky to pull out. Best things about this: 1. The TWO burner stove on top 2. Matchless igniter - works just like my gas stove at home! 3. There are TWO oven racks in this, and the oven interior is pretty spacious. 4. The lid provides wind protection for the stove - keeps flame from going out Things I bought to make it even more amazing: 1. An AWESOME toaster oven cooking set, complete with little pizza pans, baking sheet, bread loaf pan, and little wire cooling rack. These can all be fit inside the oven while you are traveling, so won't take up extra space in the car. They fit perfectly: OvenStuff Non-Stick 6-Piece Toaster Oven Baking Pan Set 2. The carrying case. I don't know what I'd do if something happened to my oven. This has kept it from getting scratched or banged up, conceals it, and makes it much easier to carry from point a to b: Camp Chef Outdoor Camp Oven Bag Fits C-Oven (Black) Happy camping, happy cooking!

This oven/two burner stove is high quality and gives a tremendous amount of possibilities for better than average camp meals. We will be using it at Burning Man and the footprint is the same as a regular propane two burner stove but we will have the oven beneath to expand the food items we can prepare. Nice!

What a pleasure for an item to live up to and exceed expectations.I have been cooking on another gas range top and using the old Coleman stove top oven for years. This year,in preparation for a mid-November Elk hunt,I precooked 6 different meals and place them in 13" X 9" aluminum pans. When we would return to camp after the days hunt & I would fire up the Camp-Chef and pop one of the pans in the generously sized oven. After feeding and watering our horses and mules, we would go back into the tent, get the wood burning stove fired up (5 to 13 degrees at night) and then dig into a hot meal.It was bliss. Before leaving for the days hunt, the Camp-Chef stove top made quick work of perking a 14 cup sized pot of coffee. The electric start feature was outstanding.Everyone I hunted with this year said that a Camp-Chef was going to be in their hunting camp from this day forward.Sure is one less thing to worry about.

I've been camping for about 40 years. I've owned many stoves and BBQs. When I saw this oven I had to have it. I absolutely love it. The quality is wonderful and the look is really cool and sleek. I made brownies, cup cakes, and muffins. I baked potatoes and warmed meals. It was wonderful. Start the oven in advance on high; when you get about 50 degrees from the tempeture you want to cook at, turn the oven down to Low. I found it's much easier to get the oven hot then to cool it down. You'll see - it's a wonderful camping toy for the Chef. Now as far as the two burners on top - bummer deal - I can't seem to get things to heat up very fast. I used my Coleman Drip Coffee maker on the burner and it took 45 minutes - guess I better get up a little earlier!! As far as eggs or pancakes or warming things up it's wonderful but I struggled with frying my french fries too. I got the job done but it took a while. Wow - what a life - just camping, resting, enjoying the sights and eating the best food around!!
