Camp Chef Expedition 2X,
By Crazy at the Beach (Redondo Beach, CA) - See all my reviews

I was in the market for a new camping stove and was impressed by the reviews the Camp Chef stove received. I too got mine at Costco for $99.00 and includes the reversible cast iron grill/griddle that sells for ~ $40.00 separately. My only complaints are the burners seem to blow out easily on a windy day when at the lower settings and it seems to get a little too hot for my liking and concentrates most of the heat in the center of the pan or griddle. I highly recommend getting Camp Chefs 'Flame Tamer' to spread out the heat (I bought 1 for each burner @$9.99 each).

Great outdoor kitchen,

Our ten week kitchen remodel forced us to set up a temp kitchen on the patio. I didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars on a gas grill with burners and our existing camp stove was just too small for every day cooking. Found this baby at Costco for 99 bucks! Hooks up to five pound propane tank for long term cooking, puts out big heat (caution) but has simmer dial, can hold big pasta pot and with added addition of bbq box, turns into a perfect size gas grill. Will be using this to grill our garden veggies all summer long. Check the Camp Chef site, might find it cheaper than Amazon.

This stove is exactly what it's advertised to be. I ordered it and took it on vacation to Colorado. We set up camp and used this stove to boil water to wash dishes with while cooking on the griddle. It's great.

I have used this stove several times and it works great. Boils 3 gallons of water in a lobster pot plenty quick and the griddle works great too. Kind of wish I went with the three burner model instead. You run out of space if you are trying to prepare a whole meal on it. I think I might pick up one of the single burner set ups to help with that problem.I installed a 8 foot propane hose with a quick connect to hook to the connection on the side of my camper, so I do not need to carry a seperate propane tank for it.

I own the three burner and two burner explorer stoves. LOVE them. I purchased this one for my son and his wife as a gift as he loved our stoves. Camp chef quality and multiple accessories have me sold on their products. love them so much, I even bought the bigger three burner for my dad! If you are looking for quality.....Camp Chef is it!

We bought the Camp Chef Expedition 2x to replace the anemic and undersized 2-burner stove that attaches to the side of our Coleman tent trailer. Using a regulator on the high-pressure gas feed from the camper, this stove hooks up quickly and easily. We initially picked up a 3-burner model at Costco, but returned it when we realized how much weight that third burner adds. Weight is a major consideration for us considering we are towing everything. Anyway, this stove has worked out perfectly. The burners produce plenty of heat for everything from brewing coffee to cooking burgers on the accompanying grill. The flame is consistent and easy to control, and the wind shield does an adequate job of protecting the flame. Granted, we position the stove close to the camper, so that provides protection too. Everything comes apart easily for cleaning, and the optional Camp Chef carrying case we bought holds everything easily. The only minor beef I have is you have to be careful with things requiring lower heat...for example, we set the coffee pot off to the edge of the burner to keep it warm. Otherwise, there is plenty of space to cook a complete meal for our family of 4. The matchless ignition is a nice bonus and works perfectly every time.
