We were thinking of building in a wood pizza oven, not any more.

This oven works great heats up much faster than I expected (be careful it gets very hot)

I use a store bought dough that comes in a ball, it works best to use 1/2 to make two small pizzas.
cooks in about 5 minutes or less, AMAZING. 600 degrees is about the right temp.

Tip, first pizzas don't stack toppings too high until you get the hang of it.

The knob has a built in ignitor, you have to twist it just right to get it light, It can take a few twists right after you change bottles.

Pizza at home has never been so easy and cheap!

Although it does the job and cooks pizzas, the bottom crust is usually hard and thick and the top sometimes burned and middle not cooked.

The construction is stainless steel, but it's so thin that it just feels cheap. The front removable door arch is cut (probably stamped out) with a rough arched edge that can actually cut your hand if not careful. Using a wire brush will probably smooth the edge, but why isn't it not done at the factory. The edges of the stainless steel for the rest of the oven is much the same. Sharp edges that can cut you if not handled carefully.

I really wanted to keep this oven, cause it looks good, but the construction and functionality just did not meet my expectation. Camp Chef would do well to change the manufacturing to make this oven better. Using a thicker sheet of stainless steel would help and adding a reflective arch surface above the pizza so the heat stays in and cooks the top of the pizza would be a good improvement. The light steel construction used is not enough to reflect much of the heat.

I ran the oven with a small gas cylinder not the large propane tank. I heated the oven 3 times to make pizza and the third time I ran out of gas. Takes 15 minutes to heat to 700 degrees. So 45 minutes of operation with a full burner and about 2 to 5 minutes to cook a pizza. Give it another hour cause I was testing it out; so the average small bottle of propane will last approximately 2 hours.

This is a glorified barbeque grill with a cooking stone. If you really want it, get the less expensive version where a barbeque grill is used as the heat source.

I received this product on Monday and made my first pizzas on Wednesday. This oven is awesome. It is exactly what we wanted. It heated up really fast. I will have to practice to get the heat just right. The pizzas cooked in 4 minutes and were delicious. Can't wait to use it again and work on perfecting the thinness of the crust.
